"If I got locked away,

And we lost it all today,

Tell me honestly;

Would you still love me the same?"

Saying that I was enthusiastic to go back to school, would tell you how sarcastic I could be. My poor alarm had suffered several bangs to snooze and had eventually fallen off and gone dead, much to the pleasure of a sleepy April. But the now-late April regretted her actions. I had absolutely no time to get dressed like those over-enthusiastic Youtubers filming back-to-school videos. You see, I took inspiration from the Expectation vs. Reality kind of videos instead. I had just about enough time to shower and throw on an outfit before Jennifer would pick me up.

I did just that. I don't even think I remembered to brush my teeth. I quickly showered and rushed out to get dressed. Luckily for me, Jennifer had laid out my outfit of the day, or OOTD as she liked to call it, to ensure that I stuck by my promise and dressed more femininely. It was a plain white tank top over a chevron skater skirt with several shades of blue. I threw on my pair of white Converse and rushed out with my bag.

"What happened to you?" were the first words that came out of Jennifer's mouth as soon as she saw me.

I gave her a look saying don't you know me better and then she shook her head at me and sighed. I opened Jennifer's glove compartment which always contained all her basic toiletries. And by basic toiletries I meant that it contained toiletries that could turn an old hag into a princess. So that's why I wasn't much bothered about my disheveled appearance. I quickly brushed my hair into a half-up-half-down hairstyle and secured it with a white bow. Then I applied a faint layer of mascara and lip gloss. One look in the mirror and I was satisfied.

Soon we arrived at school and parked into our usual parking-spot. Jennifer looked at me just as we got out of the car and gave me a smile saying I'm impressed. We walked together up to the entrance of the school only to see a crowd of girls huddled in a corner, giggling away and creating havoc.

Must be someone new I thought to myself and just then Jennifer opened her mouth to confirm my suspicions.

"Hey April, did you hear that there are going to be 3 new guys joining our school for senior year?" she asked, fanning her face dramatically, excitement significant in her tone.

As you must've guessed, Jennifer was the one who had a million crushes since Elementary school. She was the one who introduced me to TV shows with hot actors or drooled over guys. So it was a given fact that she was looking forward to meeting the new guys but I was pretty much unaffected by it. She tried to tug me over toward the crowd and I yanked her back in the other direction. I was in no mood to get stuck among crazy fan girls.
