"Just gonna stand there and watch me burn.

But that's alright because I like the way it hurts.

Just gonna stand there and hear me cry,

But that's alright because I love the way you lie,

I  love the way you lie."

~Eminem ft. Rihanna

So this is what the scenario was:

I was in my living room trying to console the guy who kissed my best friend and humiliated her, apologised to her and soon after spiked her drink, which accidentally reached my gut instead of hers. Confusing right? I mean why should I be one to even try to console him when I had more reasons than one suggesting otherwise? The best part was that the more sensible part of me had been asking me the same question for the past half an hour without answer.

The other part of me that acted without consulting my sensible half, had been going with the flow and trying to console the jerk who broke down in my house whereas his usual behaviour and composure was totally different. It was kinda scary actually, him showing me a side he had never shown before. When he told me that he was the one who spiked Jennifer's drink, saying that I was shocked would be an understatement.

Ever since he had apologised to her, my opinion of him had slightly changed for the better. The fact that he was Skyler's best friend, kind of made me have a change of heart towards him, as Skyler was one to be trusted. But this twist in events were now steering me in the other direction again. All these conflicting emotions were tiring me. Just then the doorbell rang.

I went over and open the door to find Axl and Sierra.

"Hey guys!" I answered rather awkwardly, knowing that Jesse was on the couch in the living room.

"Hey April," Sierra replied hurriedly, "Would you mind taking these bags to the kitchen?"

I took the bags from her hand and went over towards the kitchen

"Oh hello there," I heard Sierra from the living room, "I didn't know April had company."

At that, I rushed out to carry out the rather awkward introductions, rather than my brother and Sierra assuming more awkward stuff.

"Umm Jesse, this is my brother Axl, and his girlfriend, Sierra." I explained gesturing to the two, "And guys this is Jesse, from school."

I didn't know how else to introduce him and wanted to save everyone else from the embarrassing story of how we actually know about each other.

"Oh nice to meet you there buddy," Axl stretched his hand out to Jesse which Jesse shook firmly.

"It's late, care to join us for dinner, Jesse?" Sierra asked, being the hospitable one.

"Umm, I guess I better get going," Jesse answered awkwardly.

At that, the crowd dispersed. Sierra insisted that Jesse stay for dinner but he politely declined. I walked him to the door.

"Umm, thanks for being there for me today, April," he said, playing around with the string of his hoodie, "I really did screw up, badly. I hurt so many people including you and you were still so nice to me today."

"Nah, no problems," I dismissed it by waving my hand in the air casually.

"Really, thanks. Oh and one more thing."
