"Why did I leave?"

"Master, I can-"

I held Lucifer by his throat with my middle finger on his spine. My fangs hissed as they extended and pierced my bottom lip. My fingers dug deeper in his skin as he gagged and blood ran down his cheek.

"Satan. Give me every reason why I should not kill you again and send you to nothingness. After this, you have one death and I can provide it right now."

He choked and I realised that he couldn't answer me if he couldn't breathe so I dropped him on the ground.

He got up and gasped for air and tried to stand on his own. I then kicked him down and placed my foot between his shoulder blades.
"Move and die... Permanently." He layed on the ground without another word.

"Since you claim that you dare not tell me why I left, explain this imbalance the universe."

"Fair well then. The imbalance is that the portions of good and bad are uneven."

"How?"

"I'm getting there. But first understand this: what is done can only be fixed, not reversed."

"I know that. Explain the whole thing."

"Before you left, everything was fine. I can't answer to the terms of your leaving yet but after you left, the forces tilted. As you know, humans have very... Distinctive natures. Their nature axis can tilt either way at any given time. For example, a human is never fully good or completely bad."

"Like the yin and yang?"

"Yes. Exactly that. We, however, have a set destiny. Demons are purely evil, angels are purely good, that remains constant."

"But, when I changed my form-"

"-correct. You tilted your axis to be in the middle. Here's the thing, if it was a regular demon, it wouldn't even matter if they change their form, they wouldn't affect the balance."

"But I'm a ruler."

"And your force of evil is much stronger than that of any other that we know of."

"Isn't my return supposed to deflect that and bring back the balance?"

"That was the theory. Which is why I called you back. But someone else shifted the balance."

I was about to ask who when I remembered the request of Jesus. I didn't understand what he meant but I was sure that his son shifted the balance.

"Master," Lucifer began, "do you have an idea who?"
