The children left after the test was over and they were lead to the cafeteria room. It was like any other cafeteria with a few rows of benches and long tables. To most of them it was just like school, but to others it was better. Adrian was not in the mood to do anything after the test. He realised now that he had a rival, but he had no idea what he was his rival in. Adrian didn’t want these powers, in fact he would have left Gallowaton the moment he had the chance, but for some reason Adrian was filled with jealousy and hatred towards Matthew. He didn’t even care that Matthew had the same powers as him, but still he couldn’t let go of his feelings.

The ten children stood in line for the lunch lady to give them something to eat. The lunch lady - Sylvia - was stood behind something that looked like a bar table. There was no food to see at all, but when the first person came forward they realised why.

“I want egg and bacon with a cup of juice” Sarah Trophal said with a plate and a glass cup in her hands.

Sylvia just merely held her hand over the plate and the cup, and then everything Sarah ordered just appeared.

“Awesome” said Roger impressed.

As soon as Adrian got his food he sat down on a bench alone. He simply ordered two sandwiches with cheese.

Matthew sat down on a different bench then Adrian did and before his bottom even hit the bench he was overcrowded with people. Everybody sat over to him, except Simon who sat as lonely as Adrian did. Adrian took every bite with anger and almost bit his tongue a few times. To his surprise Sarah walked away from Matthew’s table and sat down next to Adrian.

“Don’t you want to sit down with prince show-off?” Adrian said sarcastically.

“If I sit down with him along with the other girls who wander around him desperately, then he will think I am one of them. No, it is better that I stand out so that he can eventually notice me” she said a little too quickly.

Adrian found Sarah interestingly weird, but after all she was the only one here who had shown him a little kindness.

Matthew’s crowd laughed loudly at a joke he had just made. Surprisingly there were a lot of boys sat with him too because they thought he is cool.

“What do you see in that guy?” Adrian exclaimed “He’s vulgar and ego.”

“But he’s also…” Sarah said, but then was rudely interrupted by Simon.

“He’s also a show-off” Simon said.

He was standing right behind them the whole time and listening.

“Matthew Piper is a stuck-up rich boy” Simon said way too loud.

He was so loud that everybody heard his despiteful words. Matthew stepped away from the table.

“You might be right, but I can beat you any day” Matthew said.

Simon took that as a challenge and got ready for a fight. He got up and opened his mouth.

“Don’t make me do this” he said sounding almost scared.

“Give me your best shot” Matthew challenged.

Simon threw a fire bolt across the room, trying to hit Matthew.

The stuck-up kid just merely used his hand as a shield. His hand created a blue see-through shield that looked like glass. Matthew's crowd cheered louder and louder. As a reply to Simon’s attack, Matthew arrogantly pushed Simon and he tumbled backwards onto the floor.

“Wow” Sarah said impressed.

Adrian didn’t know who he was rooting for. Both of them were equally irritating.
