Adrian stood next to Geoff’s bed completely speechless. He heard Julian’s shoes tapping to the wooden floor heading towards Adrian’s room.
Sarah grabbed the book off of Adrian.
“What are you doing?” Adrian said angrily.
“Take my hand” Sarah ordered.
She held her hand in front of him. Adrian wasn’t really seeing the point in it and he looked at her with questioning eyes. Geoff let out a big roar in his sleep.Sarah sighed impatiently. Then she grabbed Adrian by his shoulder. Adrian didn’t resist as she transported him to his room. The wind from their arrival blew the door shut. Adrian fell to his knees, but then quickly got up again.
“Hide!” he told Sarah.
Sarah quickly hid under the bed and held the book tightly to her chest. Adrian jumped onto the bed and tucked himself in in a hurry.
Like they expected, Julian came in. He opened the door slowly, walked over to Adrian’s bed and tapped him on his shoulder lightly. Adrian pretended like he just woke up and started to moan.
“It’s just me” Julian said friendly.
Adrian turned to him and rubbed his eyes.
“What are you doing here?” he said in a fake sleepy voice.
“Croper wants to meet you” Julian told.
“At this time?” Adrian said worried.
Julian nodded. Sarah started to breath heavily under the bed and Julian started to notice. To cover it up Adrian started to breath heavily too.
“Are you alright?” Julian asked.
“Yeah I’m alright” Adrian answered and jumped out of bed.
His foot landed right on Sarah’s finger. She felt like screaming, but she managed to hold it in.
“Why are you wearing your daytime clothes” Julian asked confused.
“Ehm…. I was lying on the bed and………… I fell asleep” Adrian lied.
He wasn’t a good liar so his lips started to twitch, luckily though the lie wasn’t so big since he had fallen asleep a lot in his normal clothes.
Julian didn’t ask any further questions he just walked out of the room with Adrian right behind him.
As they went out; Adrian wondered whether Sarah would keep the book safe.
They went down to the main entrance room which was completely empty. The lights were turned off and Adrian got a feeling of that they were being watched.
Julian went over to the end of the room and stood in front of the wall. Adrian was going to say something, but then Julian stopped him.
“Close your eyes” Julian said.
Adrian was going to say something, but decided not to argue.
They both closed their eyes and stood face to face with the wall. After a few seconds they both opened them and they were in another room.
“What?” Adrian said amazed.
They were in Croper’s office. Croper was sat in an armchair next to a fireplace which was bringing a lot of warmth to the room.
“Adrian, come sit down” he said friendly.
Adrian turned back to the wall which was completely ceiled.
“New surprises everyday” Adrian mumbled to himself.
Croper’s office was large and the walls were brown. There was a big round green carpet in the middle of the room and also a desk there. Adrian looked up and saw a glass ceiling. He then realised that he had seen the room before, or at least the ceiling. The first day at Gallowaton, Croper had stood beside it and looked down.
