"Come downstairs you two! We're putting up the Christmas tree!" Drew's mom shouted.

We both got dressed and headed down. She smiled at us and said;

"You two just seem so perfect together." We both smiled at each other and I giggled.

He helped her put up the tree and we started decorating it.

I helped Krista wrap the lights all around it, and drew placed the ornaments on each branch.

We we're half way done. "Get on my shoulders." Drew told me. So I got up on the sofa and climbed onto his shoulders.

Krista handed me the star and I placed it on the very top.

I felt like i was part of the family. I haven't decorated a tree like this in years. Since my dad left.

Christmas wasn't the same without my dad or Mathew my brother. Everything just seemed broken.

Krista made us some blueberry pancakes with a strawberry kind of whipped cream to go on top.

"I'm so happy you can be with us for Christmas." She told me. I smiled
"me too."

I helped Drew with the dishes and wiped down the table. Krista left to do the groceries for tonight's dinner.

"So who's all coming?" I asked him. "I think my grandparents, my aunt May a few of my cousins and my sister Leah and her boyfriend Tyler." He answered.

"Oh you have an older sister?" He looked over and nodded.

"She moved out with Tyler when she was 16. So it's been a while." He said.

"Do you have any siblings?" He asked me. I nodded. "

"An older brother a year older. Mathew. He left with my dad though when I was 6. Haven't seen him since then."

I never talked about my dad or brother really, Mathew and I used to be close. But he couldn't accept the fact that my dad was leaving. So he left with him and left me behind.

Drew hugged me from behind and wrapped his arms tight around me.

"I'll always stay." He whispered. I turned to face him and smiled. "I hope so." I whispered back.
