The sound of your heart beating

It's been a week. I was still pretty pissed about what happened that night with Drew and that bitch. Cal kept trying to make me forgive him since she hated seeing us fight. And also hated seeing me upset. But this time it was different.

Few weeks have past, Drew and it were in the same first class but haven't spoken to each other. "Maya wait!" He caught my wrist. "This is stupid. I said I was sorry. Why are you still mad?" He asked me. I looked at my shoes. "Forget it Drew."

He didn't let go. "No, I won't forget it. I love you and we haven't spoken in two weeks, Maya I don't want to lose the best thing in my life." He told me.

I looked up at him. Trying to catch any sign of a lie. None. "I don't want to lose you either." I gave in. I gave in because I was tired of being mad and I was tired of sitting in my dorm crying every night for the past two weeks.

He touched my face, "I'm really sorry Maya. I would do anything to hurt you ever again. I was a jerk." He added.

I gave him a small soft smile. "I forgive you." I whispered. We were 19 now it was time to leave to crappy things in the past. I've been acting like a kid. And we needed to deal with out problems like adults.

He smiled, Cal met up with us on campus. Suddenly they were both quite. I was wondering what was going on. They both looked at me and smiled widely.

"Maya." He said. I raised a brow. "What?" Cal smiled and looked excited. "So I've been wondering," He says taking something out of his poket.

My heart raced so fast I thought I was going to have a heart attack. "Would you do me the honor to marry me next fall?"

Tears stricked my face. "Yes!" I shouted. He picked me up and kissed me. He spun me around and Cal stood there smiling while there were tears down her cheek. "I love you Maya." He says putting me down. "I love you too. I'm glad you came along. You're the sound of my heart beating."
