What are the chances in a story that the MC meets the guy and they start dating first chapter?

On Wattpad, pretty high.

You know what I love? Books that I can relate to.

You know what I don't love? Books that oversell.

I compare books to wrestlers. Some sell great, some just tend to oversell.

What you want is a book that sells perfectly, like Dolph Ziggler, Dean Ambrose, or Seth Rollins.

You don't want a book that doesn't sell well, like Kane or Big Show.

Or a book that oversells like John Cena.

Am I even making sense write(purposely did this) now? Probably not.

The point is, that the likelihood of a guy falling in love with you in 5 minutes is highly unlikely.

Check this short example out:

His eyes met mine, and I realized that he was the one that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with.

Maybe I'm paraphrasing, but that is how most go down.

What's the point of falling in love the first chapter?

What do you gain? What do your readers gain?

Nothing. Firstly, I know nothing about the characters, and I won't know them unless I get a little more detail.

The reason there is no detail is because some people oversell!

This all kinda goes back to Knowing Your Characters, because if you have someone like Dean Ambrose whispering lovey dovey things to the MC first or second chapter, chances are you don't know him very well.

To Suck

Being unrealistic about situations. Think about what would more than likely happen in real life before you type it up.

Not To Suck

Writing your book like Seth Rollins sells moves. Beautifully and very realistic.
