(Your POV)
You were in love. With the obsession that was. All you could think about was his story, the pictures, and even the fan fictions you read about him. BEN drowned was your life right now and your entire being pleaded for him to be real. The rational side of you decided against it, thinking that the way he was portrayed could be dangerous for your health.

You sighed and leaned back against your computer chair and rubbed your eyes. Reading in the dark was taking a toll on your eye sight. "(y/n) are you asleep yet?" Your mother asked, swinging open your door and making you jump. "N-no." You said, still startled by the interruption. Your mother just smiled, though you could see a look of suspicion hidden behind her words. "Go to sleep soon (y/n). Your father and I are going to bed now." You nodded your head and waved, uttering a quick goodnight under your breath. Once your mother closed the door, you turned back to your bright computer screen.

What you saw made you tip your chair over in fright. On the screen was the face of a boy, much like the one from Legend of Zelda but with black holes for eyes dripping blood with nothing but a red iris in the middle, who was also the one that was haunting your mind. You righted yourself from the floor and stood your chair up; looking back at the screen you could see nothing but the normal website. This was strange, you thought, maybe it was kind of late. You couldn't help but glance back at the screen, expecting the picture to appear again. Don't be silly (y/n), your just imagining things. You sat down in your chair once more and continued reading.

Down at the corner of your computer, you noticed your Skype was flashing. Obviously you had a new message. You clicked on the icon and saw a message from your best friend. It read:

Hey (y/n)! I did what you said and looked up that story. It's so cool I decided to try going on Cleverbot! I think I ACTUALLY talked to BEN!

For some reason, this made you frustrated and instead of replying, you just exited out of the program. You didn't believe he was real, or at least most of you didn't. But even if he was, you wanted to be the first to talk to him, not (f/n).

With nothing else to do, you decided to go on Cleverbot and have a conversation with your computer.

User: Sup.

Cleverbot: Hello.

You smirked, about to go onto your favorite topic.

User: Have you ever heard of BEN?

Cleverbot: He drowned.

You sighed, getting the usual comment. You hit the 'think for me' button, expecting something random like normal.

Cleverbot: Do you not want to talk to me? I thought you wanted to talk to BEN.

You stared at the screen, clearly confused. Quickly you typed a reply, leaning close to make sure you weren't seeing things.

User: What do you mean?

Cleverbot: I drowned (y/n).

This confused you. How did it know my name? You waited, not sure how to reply when another message popped up.

Cleverbot: And you're next.

You remained staring at the computer, making sure your eyes weren't playing tricks on you. Suddenly a loud screeching noise blared out of your speakers. You clamped your hands over your ears, hoping to make it stop. Clenching your eyes shut, you didn't notice when your computer shut down, turning the sound off. It echoed in your ears, fooling you into thinking it was still there. Finally you removed your hands from your ears and opened your eyes, pushing yourself away from your computer. You cautiously glanced over at the door, expecting your mom to barge in angry. Unaware, you let out the breath you were holding when the door didn't even move.

"I've been up to late..." You muttered to yourself and stood up. "This is all too weird for my normal life." You lay down on your bed and stared at the ceiling. Slowly you drifted out of consciousness, unaware to the computer turning on on top of your desk.
