You flopped down onto the bench outside of the china shop. "Why are you doing this?" You asked BEN with an exhausted sigh. After (Bf/n) left, the elfish killer had dragged you out of the house. You had no idea why he found it necessary to walk you all around town, especially before lunch.
"Just bare with me (Y/n). It'll be worth it in the end." BEN smirked, taking a seat next to you. How today would ever be worth it was a lost concept to you. You folded your arms over your chest and stared at the gloomily gray sky. It perfectly reflected your mood at the moment, though it had nothing to do with spending the day with BEN. In fact, you would almost call it enjoyable running around town with the killer, if it wasn't your birthday.
BEN leaned his back against your arm, green hat in your face. It smelled like lake water, but you actually didn't mind it all that much. "So Birthday girl, why so gloomy?" BEN asked. You shrugged and stood up, letting BEN fall back onto the bench. "Just... personal reasons I suppose." You began walking away, fingers trailing along the back of the bench. "What is the purpose behind this?" BEN walked up next to you, shoulder to shoulder. He huffed out a smirked again, "I'll tell you if you tell me what happened." You frowned, debating about telling. You'd never really talked about it since there wasn't much to say. Your parents knew, as did your best friend.
"C-can we get something to eat first?" You asked, attempting to keep an even tone. BEN shrugged, "Sure. Come on." He grabbed your wrist and started dragging you again. You shook your head, "I can walk you know." BEN grinned, "Just be glad I'm not carrying you." You rolled your eyes and tried to keep up.
You stopped in front of a McDonald's (A.N.: Bare with me readers. I know McDonald's gets old.) a few blocks away. You leaned against the wall by the door, trying to even your breathing. "Do you have to rush!?" you asked. BEN nodded, "Yeah. Keep up if you can." He opened the door and walked in. You shook your head and followed behind him. And why McDonald's of all places? Sure it tasted good, but it's all pretty much grease discuised in the shape of food. You shrugged it off and stood next to BEN in line. Food is food.
Upon receiving your food, BEN led you to a booth in the corner. An awkward silence hung over the table as you slowly nibbled on your hamburger. "(Y/n)." BEN said, waiting for you to speak. You sighed heavily and leaned back into the leather of the seat.
"Fine." You muttered reluctantly, setting down your neatly eaten hamburger. "Four years ago on my birthday, my older brother got into a car wreck. The end." You said, quickly stuffing fries into your face. Most people thought you were an only child, what with how little you spoke of him. He was five years older than you, already on his last year of high school at the time. It pained you and your parents to think about what happened, especially when it was a date no one could forget. You didn't, no couldn't, celebrate any more.
The table remained silent. You glanced up to see BEN staring at you, an unreadable expression on his face. "Stop staring at me..." You mumbled, tears welling up in your (e/c) eyes. The killer sighed, "We don't have to celebrate then. You should have said something in the first place..." He frowned, folding his arms in disappointment. You stared on in shock. "I didn't think you would even care." You said. BEN glanced at you and rolled his eyes, "This isn't caring. Its... its trying not to be insensitive about death. I mean, I've caused death so..."
You laughed loudly, causing BEN to glare at you. "What's so funny!?" Continuing to laugh, you shook your head, "BEN Drowned, the creepypasta, cares about something." BEN stood up quickly, slamming his hands on the table. "I do not!" A few diners sitting next to you glanced over nervously. Stifling your laughter, you grabbed the rest of the food. "Let's go before you start caring about the opinions of others." You joked, finally in a good mood. You didn't expect that telling someone else about your brother would lighten up the guilt you felt inside. Maybe it was just because it was BEN. You shook your head and walked out of the restaurant.
"Now I believe you owe me an explanation as to what we are doing?" You asked curiously. BEN grinned, "Why explain it, when I can show you." You looked at him in confusion. "What do you mean?" BEN's hand grabbed tightly onto yours, fingers interlocking. A faint blush crept its way onto your cheeks, to your dismay. "Keep up (Y/n)."
