What am I supposed to say..? - chapter fourteen (mine)

Lacy's pov

I didn't know what to say to Luke, so I tried to ignore him. But that was actually proving to be more difficult then I had thought. Finally, I just went to the park. It was pouring rain. But I didn't care. I sat on the swings slowly swinging back and forth.

I looked down at my phone to see a text from Luke.

To: Lacy
From: Lukeypie (:
Hey... Where are you..? We need to talk.

I decided there was no more avoiding him.

To: Lukeypie (:
From: Lacy
I'm at the park... Nearest to the house.

He texted me saying he was on his way and not even two minutes later, he was there. "What are you doing here in the pouring rain?" Luke asked me. I shrugged.

"I... Got your flowers..." I said. He nodded slowly. "So... You know that I love you too..." He trailed off. I nodded this time.

"Look... Luke... I'm flattered that you love me... But... I'm with Michael... And I honestly love him. We can't be together. And I'm really sorry about that." I said. Luke nodded. "Yeah... I understand that but Lacy... I'm in love with you!" He said. I nodded. "I know... But Luke... I love you... Just not that way." I said. I kissed his cheek and walked away, leaving him standing in the rain.
