alison pov

i was sitting at the counter, reading a magazine and drinking coffee when hands squeezed my sides, "hi baby."

i gasped and jumped to my feet.

i hit emily with my magazine.

"you scared me you, wonderful woman." i said and laughed.

i hugged her tightly, "oh. i missed you." she said.

"good. shut up and kiss me." i said and smiled.

emily grinned and kissed my lips.

"mommy's home mommy's home!" elijah shouted.

"oh! there he is!" emily hugged him and lifted him up.

"come here buddy." she said.

"i missed you too mommy. how long are you home?" he said.

"the whole weekend." emily said.

"sweet!"

"mommy!" victoria sprinted downstairs and emily put eli down.

"hey! there's my special girl!"

she kissed tori's cheek and lifted her up.

"mommy come upstairs! mama bought me a new jersey!" elijah cheered.

i chuckled and emily smiled, "alright. i'll be right up." she said and put tori down.

they both ran upstairs and i smiled.

"so how does it feel to be a pro basketball player?" i asked.

emily looked around, "mostly tired...and sore. it's good to be home though. just to take a break from it all." she said to me

i smirked and clapped my hands together, "'cause you're not gonna be tired and sore after this weekend." i said and jumped down from the counter and put my hands to her chest.

"oh..." emily said.

"come on mom!" elijah yelled.

we turned to the stairs and smiled.

"like i said. it's good to be home."

"yeah." i said and pecked my wife's lips.

"hey ali what are you doing here?" caleb asked as he opened the door.

"hey! i just wanted to thank you for everything you did for emily. helping her and all of that good stuff." i said.

"no problem. and by the way. i talked to miranda and we went on our first date the other day." he said.

"yay! how'd it go?" i asked.

he shrugged, "it was okay. i liked her but i don't know if i can really love her."

"i get that. she isn't the one caleb and that's fine." i said.

"yeah. and you guys have been great. thank you for forgiving me alison. if you and emily need anything at all." he said.

i smiled, "great because emily has been gone for a while and she's finally home so we were hoping you could watch the twins?"

he chuckled, "this was a set up wasn't it?"

"not really... the thank you was genuine but yeah the rest was."

he laughed, "sure i will watch them. when?"

"guys come on!" i shouted.

they sprinted in, eli chasing victoria.
