Lapis woke up to Peridot's dream holo and clung to the green gem. She didn't want Peridot to have any more nightmares. She rubbed Peridot's shoulder soothingly as she slept and the images from her dream played out above them.
----------------------------------------------
Peridot was curled into a ball, drastically injured after Jasper had just pushed her into the gem destabilizing wall. She shuddered on the floor, whimpering in immense pain.
"That's what you get for not telling me what you are doing with our prisoners, 'boss.'" Jasper said. She gave Peridot a kick in the ribs. "If you try to move Lapis Lazuli again, I'll have her more to cell block 1."
Peridot cringed upon hearing that. Cell block one had the reputation of having the cruelest guards and the record number of forced fusions. It gets so bad there, sometimes gems smash themselves due to the stress and the wrongness of being fused unnaturally like that.
"Fine...I-I won't move her again. She stay w-where she is." Peridot said, painfully. The wall had shorted out her limbs. She had no way to defend herself and no way to move. She was helpless.
"That's what I like to hear." Jasper sneered. She walked away and pounded on the wall outside Lapis's cell, spooking her. Jasper laughed and disappeared down the hall.
"Too bad the cell doors are soundproof here...I wish she could have heard me. And that I could hear her...she has the most wonderful voice..." Peridot muttered, her fingers were beginning to work again. She started to bring up her finger pad to accelerate her recalibration when another guard gem came strolling by.
"Ooooooooooooo new meat?" The guard said, a lowly Zircon clone, moving over to Lapis's cell.
"No. That's my informant. She's under my supervision." Peridot said, managing to get her legs to work. The Zircon looked at Lapis greedily.
"Oooooooo this one is pretty! Can I keep her when she's outlived her usefulness?" The Zircon asked, clapping her hands and hopping. Peridot looked at her in disgust.
"No. She been placed under my supervision indefinitely. Yellow Diamond's decree."
"Awwwwwww no faaaaaaiiiiiir! None of us ever get to keep the pretty prisoners!" Zircon whined. "I'll buy her from you! Me and some of the other guards were given one Citrine each after they were released a couple weeks ago. We could trade? I'm sure they wouldn't mind sharing."
Peridot was disgusted at this valuing of life. Gems were meant to be free, not slaves or pets...or what the Zircons used them for.
"No. She is mine. And she is only an informant. She is to be released into society under my care...supervision. She is not going to be given to anyone." Peridot snarled.
"But you're Yellow Diamond's favorite!!! I'm sure she would let you bend a few rules! Come oooooooooonnnn she's so pretty and I want her!"
"NO! Now return to your post or else someone will be trying to trade for your sorry hide." Peridot said. The Zircon yelped and ran back down the hall.
Peridot looked through the cell door at Lapis. The truth was, Yellow Diamond had given Lapis Lazuli to her as soon as she had learned that Peridot was fond of her. "As an incentive for restarting the Kindergarten" she had said, but Peridot didn't like that. She valued the lives of other gems, and she didn't think they deserved to be objects to other gems. She had planned on helping Lapis to renter gem society and keep her safe from the scum of Homeworld who would want to harm her or...have her.
"I hope she comes to like me one day..." Peridot said.
----------------------------------------------
At this time Peridot started to toss and turn in Lapis's arms. Lapis clung to the poor gem lovingly. "I didn't know you did all that for me..." She whispered to herself.
She gently directed Peridot into a good cuddling position. Peridot wrapped her arms around Lapis and buried her face into her chest, smiling softly in her sleep. Lapis smiled warmly and kissed Peridot's gem.
"Peri...I know Yellow Diamond...well, gave me to you technically, but I just want you to know, that right now, I'm giving myself to you on my own." Lapis whispered, stroking the back of Peridot's head, feeling her soft hair.
Peridot nuzzled into Lapis, still fast asleep. She turned a little and a second dream began to play. Lapis squeezed her tightly, hoping this dream wasn't like the last one.
----------------------------------------------
Peridot and Lapis were alone together, standing in their ocean themed living room. Soft music played in the background and they were pressed together, standing in the middle of the warm pool at the room's center. They just stood there, slowly walking in a kind of circle. Slow dancing.
Peridot held little Lapis around the waist while Lapis had her arms around Peridot's neck, her face resting against the taller gem's shoulder. Peridot stole kisses at her forehead every once in a while, causing her to giggle. Their dancing wasn't intense enough to cause them to fuse, but both of their gemstones were glowing warmly.
"I love my happy Lappy..." Peridot said softly, rubbing Lapis' lower back.
"And I love my Pretty Peri." Lapis said, nuzzling Peridot's shoulder with her cheek.
----------------------------------------------
Lapis smiled as Peridot turned her sleeping face back into her chest. She gave Peridot another light squeeze and kissed the top of her head.
"I love you most of all, my Precious Peri, and I love you more than ever. Sleep well..." Lapis said sleepily. She yawned and fell asleep with her princess, entangled in each other's embrace.
(SORRY FOR NOT POSTING IN SUCH A LONG TIME MY SWEET LITTLE GEMS!!! I feel really bad, but I hope this makes up for it. Also, I'm debating whether or not to write a mature chapter next. It would be incredibly romantic, but mature none the less. I need you all to vote on it. If you vote against it I will think of something equally romantic to write so don't worry. Either way you will get a big dose of "these two cuties really bleeding love each other to bits" so please vote! :) I'll be waiting my sweet little gems!)
