Chapter One
I woke up early Tuesday morning to 'Locked Out Of Heaven' by Bruno Mars playing on my iPhone.
I walked over to the bathroom and grabbed my hairbrush out of my drawer, and ran it through my long blonde hair, I have to straighten it today. I grabbed my straightener and plugged it in to let it heat up while I went and got dressed.
I walked back into my room and stopped to think about what to wear.
Screw it. I'll wear shorts. I grabbed out my favorite pair of shorts, they were dark with decorative seams.
I slipped on a cream and turquoise striped tank top and walked back to the bathroom, I grabbed my straightener, when I was halfway done with my hair, my older brother, Liam, walked out of his room.
"Yo Liam!" I greeted him enthusiastically knowing it would piss him off.
"Shut up brat." He grumbled pushing past me towards the bathroom.
"Don't call me that! I'm fifteen not ten for God's sake." I told him through gritted teeth.
"Then start acting like it." He joked as he smirked and shut the door.
"Bastard..." I mumbled under my breath, I finished straightening my hair and Liam went back into his room to get ready.
When I was fnished I turned my straightener off, brushed my teeth, and walked out to the kitchen.
My Aunt was making breakfast when I got to the kitchen, Liam was looking through the mail.
"Morning Sammy!" I greeted my aunt as I smiled and walked past her.
"Hey Carter!" she answered, yes, my name was Carter, a guy's name. I perfered being called Cat, if I could, but most called me Carter.
"Smells AMAZING!" I said sauntering over to the table.
We all ate breakfast the Liam went back to finish getting ready.
"Liam c'mon! We're going to be late, AGAIN!" I shouted to him.
"Kay! Hold on!" He yelled back then shortly emerged from his room and ran across the house.
We walked out to the garage, I put on my turquoise vans and hopped into Liam's old beat up Ford pickup.
We passed our pasture of horses, barn, and arena's down our driveway and head out to the backroads.
