“Get the door already!” Liam’s voice rung through. I groaned and ran my hand through my hair. I really didn’t want to put up with this right now.
“Carter you know I will break this door down if you don’t answer!” Kade’s voice rung out, his voice still causing me to shiver.
“Coming, coming!” I yelled back, smiling anyway, “Jeesh, calm down you hormonal cats.” I muttered under my breath at the two impatient guys.
I sat up and groaned as I dragged my feet along the carpet, my feet slowly heating up from the rug. I picked my feet up finally the burning getting too much. I made my way to the door, my heart doing flips, as I placed my hand on the door handle, the cold metal causing chills to run up my arm as I turned my wrist the door handle twisting with it. I pulled back and let out a breath as I looked up to Kade, his grin causing a smile tug at the corners of my lips, considering the circumstances.
He rushed forward and wrapped me up in his arms, hiding his face in my hair, inhaling in. I laughed as his breath his my neck. He squeezed me tighter when I laughed, my ribs being squished, my airflow being cut off little by little.
“Uh, b-babe, you’re, I, can’t breath.” I coughed out. His arms released me quickly as he looked at me, concern filling his eyes.
“You okay?” He asked quickly running his eyes over my body.
I’m sure that look wasn’t just to see if I was okay. I thought, smirking to myself.
I smiled back at him, signaling I was okay. A warm smile took over his face as he took my hand into his, engulfing my skinny hand into his. He pulled me over to the couch and sat on one side, sitting sideways facing me and I sat on the opposite side facing him.
“What did you have to tell me?” He asked eagerly his eyes burning with curiosity.
“Oh, that?” I asked laughing nervously, averting my eyes from him. I peeked at him and realized his face had dropped seeing how nervous I was.
“Cat, whats going on?” He asked, carefully pronouncing every word like I couldn’t understand him.
“IgotofferedascholarshiptoStellar...” I muttered quickly. Looking at my hands, noticing they had very cool coloring in certain places, like on the upper right by the bottom of my index finger it was more pinkish but pale and-
“What did you say?” Kade said, covering my awesomely colored hand.
“I, I got offered a scholarship.” I muttered, pulling my hand away. I watched his fingers clench and unclench as he reached forward towards my hand, then pulled it away.
“Where was the scholarship to?” He pried quietly. I could hear the curiosity in his voice but he was gentle.
“Stellar Stables, in, in Colorado.” I whispered, tears pricking the corner of my eyes.
I heard him breath out and I finally looked up at him, knowing I’d start crying. But I had to know what his face said. When I looked up I saw him staring at the couch like it had more colors than possibly discovered.
“Did you say yes?” He finally whispered after what felt like forever.
A tear finally trickled down my cheek, making me take a staggered breath, I closed my eyes and wiped my cheek, hoping he didn’t see it. I felt his hand enclose over mine on my cheek. He pulled it off my cheek softly and placed it on his own, I felt the wetness, and looked up to see he was crying too. I leaned forward and wrapped my arms around his neck, keeping my face in the crook of his neck sobbing into it.
We sat on the couch, wrapped in each others arms, crying, enjoying each others company; knowing it wouldn’t last for long.
