After the fight and knowing the Satomi and her pack was safe we made our way home. When we arrived I opened the door and looked and saw my mom standing next to the kitchen table with her back facing us. As Scott shut the door I moved closer to her and froze. uh oh
"Hey..sorry were back so late I was closing up the animal clinic..got more hours to earn a little extra.." He stopped noticing mom move and the bag of money on the table from Garret's locker
"Money" He finished
I stood there not knowing what to do so without even processing what i'm doing I blamed Scott
"Scott did it" I said quickly pointing at him he looked at me and my eyes went wide cause I didn't mean to say that It just kinda came out.
Mom turned around looking like she was gonna cry
"How much more did you need?" She asked
"This is payment from the dead pool" He said walking up to my mom
"we found it in Garret's locker" I added
"This belongs to Derek" she stated
"so your just keeping it safe for him, in a gym bag, underneath your bed?" She asked
We just stood there not knowing what to say
"How long have you had it?" she asked looking down probably disappointed in us
Scott shook his head disappointed in his self
"Too long"
"You know you have to give it back" she said
"I was going to" he said
"Do I want to know why you've had it so long?"

"Because of you" I answered seeing as Scott wasn't saying anything

She then looked at all the papers on the counters and realization went a crossed her face as she sighed deadly holding back tears
"You mean because we've been struggling a little?" She chuckled smiling acting like we weren't that far in debt, but we knew
"Mom, were struggling a lot" I continued
"Oh...Emma,Scott..you can save people's lives, but you can't save them from life..life is full of struggle"
"But it dosen't have to be" Scott said hopeful
"Honey" mom said trying to stop him but he continued
"Do you now what just one of these can do?" He asked picking up wad of money
"This can get us a new roof" He started and picked up another one
"And this can pay for Stiles' MRI, this pays for Eichen house" He said picking up another
"And this one means you don't have to work the double shift at the hospital and come home totally exhausted" He said and she smiled a sad smile
"What about this one?" she asked picking up one
He grabbed it and stared at it and he turned it over and saw blood all over this. I put my hand over my mouth. he looked up at her and nodded telling her that he will take it back.
"Good and I don't want you guys to worry okay..were gonna be fine" She comforted and pulled us into a hug. I knew that she was just saying that to make us feel better. After we pulled back I heard my phone go off telling me I got a text
