Chapter 10: Flames

Heyy. Midnight here. I have a ton of ideas for this story and literally none for my other two or any poems and have decided life likes to screw me over. Also, I realized my mistake when I called Sting a Light Dragon Slayer and his dragon a light dragon instead of a white dragon. It will be corrected in future chapters.
Disclaimer: I do not own Fairy Tail or most of the characters. A few, however, are of my own creation.

Natsus P.O.V

When I wake, I don't open my eyes, but I listen to my sister, singing.

Oh, misty eye of the mountain below
Keep careful watch of my brothers' souls
And should the sky be filled with fire and smoke
Keep watching over Durin's sons

If this is to end in fire
Then we should all burn together
Watch the flames climb high into the night

Calling out father oh
Stand by and we will
Watch the flames burn auburn on
The mountain side

"Stop the DAMN SINGING!" My eyes snap open at the sound of skin on skin. One of the cloaked figures is next to my tied up sister and I notice a small bruise on her cheek.
"Stop it!" Sylvia yells.
"Surely you've hurt her enough. Her brothers awake." A more feminine voice says. "If you want, continue singing. You have a nice voice, Dragon."
She looks at me and smiles slightly. I'm not sure if this is what she wants but I continue her song.

And if we should die tonight
Then we should all die together
Raise a glass of wine for the last time

Calling out father oh
Prepare as we will
Watch the flames burn auburn on
The mountain side
Desolation comes upon the sky

Now I see fire
Inside the mountain
I see fire
Burning the trees
And I see fire
Hollowing souls
I see fire
Blood in the breeze
And I hope that you remember me

Rose nods and Happy looks at me in amazement from his place tied up, back to back, with Sylvia between me and my sister.
"Where did you learn to sing like that?" Happy asks.
"I was raised in a forest. Not much to do so Rose stole a guitar and taught me how to sing." I reply.
The male of the two people groans. "I'm sick of these two." He walks behind me and removes me from the pole, my hands and legs still tied up with magic proof rope. Its then I notice the water about fifty feet below us.
"No! No, no, no!" Rose screams. I smile reassuringly at her but her features still radiate worry.
"I'll be fine. I'm the son of Igneel." I mutter as I'm thrown into the water.

I don't remember much as I hit the water. Just being cold and hearing a womans screams and a childs cries, muffled by the water.
Are they important to me? I catch myself thinking before I pass out.

Lucys P.O.V-outskirts of Clover, three hours after the attack on the twins

I stand in between Levy and Juvia watching prince Iono and Gray fight. So far, Iono, being a requip mage, is hiding in a tree somewhere with his heavens bow.
"Its hard to believe he injured Rose," Levy says. I nod as Iono releases an arrow only to be blocked by Grays ice shield as he retaliates with an ice lance. Iono jumps out of the tree, switching weapons to his sword of light which glows pale yellow. Gray creates an ice sword and the two blades clash, Grays shattering as Iono strikes back, sending him reeling back. Iono sends his sword back to the magical storage requip mages have and sticks his hand out to Gray who shakes it.
"You're a worthy opponent, Gray. Not as strong as Rose was way back when but..."
"Rose told us you caused the scar on her face but Juvia doesn't believe Natsus twin sister would easily let down her guard." Juvia says.
"As you probably know, I hired her to help me train for the job the princess wanted me to go on. I hired her since shes a Dragon Slayer. Anyway, I attacked her with my heavens fire sword and she ate the flames, letting her guard down, and I attacked her." He explains. "I healed her and gave her more money as a way of an apology but not a day goes by when I don't regret what I did to my little sister." He bows his head.
Noticing how uncomfortable Iono is, I attempt to change the subject. "Rose and Natsu have been gone a long time."
Rogue appears from the shadow of a tree. "She told me she'll be ok. I trust her. Shes probably still-" he sniffs the air. "Gajeel, I know you're here."
Gajeel and PantherLily appear from a bush. "Damn Saber. I thought I would get away with it." He sniffs the air. "Hey, Tiger. Do you smell that?"
"I do, Fairy. Smoke." At our confused looks, both Slayers point behind us. I turn around and a blue dot holding someone with bright pink hair emerges from the smoke.
"Shadow dragon roar!" I turn back to the Slayers to see Rogue shooting a black stream of light into the sky.
"Rogue!" A faint voice cries.
"Sylvia!" Rogue yells.
"Natsu! Happy!" I yell.
Happy lands in front of us, Sylvia lies injured in Natsus arms. She flies out of his arms and into Rogues.
"Roseanne... Take-Over... help her..." she manages to get out.
Another four figures are thrown over by us, battered and bruised, almost passed out. Sylvia is shoved in my arms and Rogue picks up one by his collar.
"I think you should be glad Rose got to you before I did!" Rogue whispers in his face, though I can only just hear it.
The man nods frantically and Rogue drops him, a murderous look in his eyes telling the man Rogue would have killed him and anyone who laid a finger on his mate.
"Natsu. I need you to cower and act scared of me," Rogue says.
"What! No way!" Natsu retaliates.
"You have to Salamander! To help your sister! I know a Dragon Slayers pride is everything but I had to do it if Sylvia failed!" Rogue yells in his face, making Natsu back away.
Natsu crouches on the ground with his arms protecting his face just as flames surround the area they're in.

Natsus P.O.V

"Natsu. I need you to cower and act scared of me," Rogue says.
Is he insane? He wants me to act weak in front of Gray and Lucy! "What! No way!"
Rogue advances towards me and gets in my face. "You have to, Salamander! To help your sister! I know a Dragon Slayers pride is everything but I had to do it if Sylvia failed!" Rogue lowers his voice so only I can hear him. "I'm sure Lucy will understand."
I back away at the smug smile on the Saber Slayers face and crouch on the ground, protecting my face with my arms just as fire cuts us off from Lucy, Levy, Gajeel, Gray, Iono and Hisui. Rose leaps through the firewall and Rogue grits his teeth.
"Shit. She's radiating heat." He mutters.
Roses hair is on fire and her red scales are glowing with heat and her eyes are red with blue stripes. Everything about her current appearance represents a flame. Rogue pulls back his arm, his fist coated in shadows, and goes to punch me. I close my eyes, waiting for the impact but it never comes.
"Thank you, Rogue." I hear Rose mutter.
I open my eyes and stand up. My sister and her mate embrace each other and Rose changes to her water dragon take over.
"You usually let Sting hit me you know." Rogue points out.
"Maybe because I promised to protect Natsu whereas you promised to protect me." She and Rogue laugh and pull away. Mavis, I hate him. Rose turns towards me. "I'm sorry, Natsu."
I smile. "Its fine. Don't worry."
She returns back to her human form and takes a small black box out of the pocket on her dress and gives it to me.
"Remember this?" I open the box. A small ring sits in the middle of it, a small, heart shaped ruby sits on the top of the ring with small emeralds surrounding it. I nod.
"We stole this when we were kids. I gave it to you and-"
"Told me to give it to you when you find your mate. Sorry it's late."

Finally finished it. These chapters are takin me so long to finish now. It took a week. Well, in the next chapter you will find out what happened after Natsu was thrown into the water. Ciao-M
