'' Here you go, dear.'' Xavier's grandma places a soft blanket on the guest's room's bed.

'' Thank you.'' I hmm quietly in response. I feel an overwhelming aroma float around me. I don't want to be here in this old bed in an unknown home.

'' Are you going to be okay, darling?'' Her sweet voice rings in my ear as she switches out the pillows on the bed. I nod my head, giving a fake smile of confidence. She leaves my room and I walk around admiring the quaint little room, the duvet is flowered patterned. A gold lamp sits on a lavender colored wood nightstand.

'' Knock, Knock.'' Xavier impersonates a knock on the door. '' Can I come in?'' He stands at the wooden door leaning back and forth on the frames. I don't look up at him, I just don't want to talk.

'' Listen I am just going to go to bed. Night.'' I give a sharp look in his direction, Its not that I am mad at him. I just want to be home, I am mad at my dad. Honestly I am just irritated. I move through the opening between his arms and the frame of the door. I run to the bathroom the cold tile gives off a soft cold touch onto my feet. I take the washcloth from the cabinet on the wall, turning on the faucet. I wait patiently for the water to heat up. I stare at my reflection, my eyes sag with tiredness. My hair oily strings across my forehead blandly. I rub off the little mascara that lays on my eyelashes. Leaving the bathroom, I was expecting some sort of rant from Xavier that I had left abruptly. Instead the hallway was pitch black and even the light from Xavier's room had banished away. I reach my hands in front of me trying to find my way back to the guest room. But to my luck exactly I slam right in to the wall and a picture hanging from the wall falls to the ground next to me.

'' Shit! Please don't be broken.'' I pray to myself, I try to find the picture on the carpet laid on the floor. I give up on the search to find the picture, instead, I try to find my room again. Once I reach the familiar entrance for the room. My fingers tremble looking for the light, I finally find it and I shut the door. A sickening feeling lays in the pit of my stomach when I lay in the pitch dark of the room. I hug the pillow next to me, but it is nothing like Xavier's pillow. The smell of mildew and dust, I inhale the awful scent.

After an hour of tossing and turning on the hard springs of the bed, I turn the light back on. I can't stand the pitch blackness all by myself. I sigh sitting up on the mattress, debating going into Xavier's room. I want to see him, but I know he is upset. I am upset as well.

The sun shines through my window blinding my eyes. I stuffing my face into the hard pillow. I try to squeeze my eyes shut but the ache from the sleepless night I encountered last night. I huff my way to the restroom.

Once I finished using the restroom, I began making my way down the stairs.

'' Morning, how did you sleep?'' Xavier's grandmother asks me as she flips pancakes on the stove top.

'' I slept good, thanks... Um.'' I hesitate of what to call her, but I truly didn't want her to see through my lie, I didn't want her to think I was ungrateful or spoiled.

'' Call me Granny.'' She smiles to me, she is really sweet.

'' Xavierie Pie!'' Granny goes up to hug her grandson whom is shirtless and half asleep.

'' Morning.'' His morning voice echoes through the small kitchen.

'' Be a gentleman and put a shirt on.'' Granny scolds him as she smacks him with a towel.

'' Yes Ma'am.'' He says running up the stairs. I stare at the comedic show, but what catches my eye the most is his respectful attitude towards his grandmother. I shove the pancakes down my throat and guzzle my orange juice. Xavier and Granny just stare in amazement of my trucker style of eating.
