La Vie En Rose

Leaves fall from the trees, and snow comes. In the snowy area of Boulder Colorado. It starts snowing in late October and early November. I love the snow, my favorite thing is snuggling up close to a book next to the window watching the snow fall from the sky. I guess you could say winter is my favorite.

I got the news today. Usually when I see snow it makes me happy, but on this day. I feel even gloomier than I have felt before. I got the news of where we are moving.

Australia.

I mean yes, it sounds awesome. I don't mind the continent. I just cant believe it is all the way across the world away from my friends. That's what hurts, I have to leave them. I have packed up most of my things already, since we leave in a week. Today is my last day of school in Colorado. I try to hold in my tears. But its barely possible.

'' Lyric, Nixxon is downstairs.'' I hear my dad scream for me.

I run the down the stairs pulling on my sunglasses to hide my swollen eyes which have been shedding tears since 6 am.

I get in and Nix jams out to music the whole time. But I look out the window, watching the pine trees fly past the window.

This is Home.

This is MY home.

I walk to my locker, only saying a few words to Nix.

'' Lyric!'' Embry runs to me. I swing my arm around her shoulder.

'' Take off your sunglasses, you're not a secret agent, trying to hide your identity.'' Em says pulling off my glasses.

'' Maybe I am a secret agent, you just don't know yet.'' I say right before Em takes the glasses off. She sees my red eyes. Her own eyes grow big.

'' Aw, Lyric.. have you been crying?''

I nod my head, I can't hide that I am breaking inside.

'' I don't tell many people this but, if you continue to cry I will definitely cry. Plus I can't do that in front of people.'' I laugh at her.

'' Aye! There is that laugh! I will miss your weird laugh.'' Em says to me and I give a half smile looking down at my shoes.

'' I will miss you Embry.''

''Same.''

By the end of day. I had given everyone a fair well.

'' Wanna go back to your place?'' I ask Nix as we walked to his car after school.

'' Actually I have hw... I am just gonna take you home.'' I looked at him confused. He only has a week left with me and he doesn't want to spend time with me. Wow that hurts.

'' Oh okay.''

I get out of the car walking to my door.

'' Bye!'' I hear Nix wave bye to me. Why is he acting so weird? There has to be something going on. What is sneaky Nixxon up too?

I wave back with a half-smile, which was really my fake smile.

I get a text messages almost immediately right when I enter my room.

Nix- Get dressed, and don't ask any questions, Oh and wear something nice.

I knew he was up to something, but what exactly was he up too?

Me- What are you up too now?

Nix- It's a surprise, and I said no questions

I smile at the text, placing my phone on my night stand. I go into my closest.

What the heck am I supposed to wear?

I find a black maxi skirt with slits on both sides. I reach for fuzzy crop sweater that hugs only the top of my chest. Pulling my skirt closer up so only a millimeter of my belly shows. Which my belly was barely even showing.

I straighten my hair, and fix my makeup from today at school. I go down stairs to fill my self up a cup of water.

'' Where you going?'' My dad says to me as he gets a cracker from the Ritz box.

'' Nix is taking me somewhere. '' I say in between my sips of water.

'' Oh, well you two have fun.'' I was surprised by his comment I thought he was going to make a big fit for me going out.

'' Okay bye.'' I think I heard his car drive up. The door rings right after I say that. I rush to open it. Nix stands there in a white v neck shirt and black tight jeans, but best of all he was holding orchards. I squeal.

'' Oh my gosh they are lovely.'' I place the angelic flowers on the table in the entry way.

'' Lets go.'' I say grabbing his hand and drag him to the car.

'' Okay where are you taking me.'' I say getting into the passenger side.

Nix rolls his eyes.

'' Remember it's a surprise, S-U-R-P-R-I-S-E!'' I roll my eyes back at him.

'' Oh, alright.'' I say and roll down the window floating my hands in the wind.I hum along to the music, soon Nix rolls down all the windows. My hair flies in the burst of wind. I let out a laugh cause Nix's hair gets all messy, but hey I am not complaining. He looked very cute with the messy styled hair.

We pull up to a charming little café.

'' Shall we go in?''

I nod taking Nix's hand into mine. I hold my sweater in my palms.

'' Awe this place is really cute.'' I say as I drink my hot chocolate, with a piece of banana cake.

'' It is, but your even cutier.'' He says giving me a wink. I laugh and give him a slight punch in the arm. After enjoying our hot chocolate snow began to fall again. I stand outside with the moonlight shining on me. I stare into Nix's star like eyes, he holds me close and I stick out my tongue to the sky to catch snowflakes on my tongue.

'' Your so gorgeous, this time I really mean it. But before you leave I want to have one last dance with you.'' Nix whispers into my ear, his breathe tickles against my ear. I blush from the heat rushing to my face.

''I would love to.''

He runs to his car to retrieve a speaker plugging his phone into the speaker chord he plays La Vie En Rose. He holds me close where almost our chests touch. I lean in close, but not to close Nix puts his hand on my neck and stops dancing with me to kiss me. But it wasn't like our normal kisses. It was amazing, it made my stomach turn inside out.

'' I love you Nix.'' I tell him, I don't believe I told him that. But I was even more surprised that he said it back.

'' I love you too.''
