My heart was pounding out my chest from anxiety. Abby ran off with Kyle, leaving me alone with James. Our eyes met and I immediately blushed. He probably thinks I'm a weirdo, for the way I acted around him. I was so shy around him.
I stood there waiting for him to say something to me.
"Haha, I guess those lovebirds left us. So where do you wanna go?" His deep voice made butterflies swirl around in my stomach. I looked up at him, looking at those nice hazel eyes. His chest stuck out his shirt and his muscles looked like they were about the pop out the sleeves.
Can I marry him now please?
"How about Macy's." I said. You don't know how much strength that took me to say. I literally had to stop biting my tongue to get the words out. He nodded and we started walking to the store.
The walk there was quiet and nerve racking. I didn't know what to say to him, so I just stayed quiet. I didn't dare to even look at him. I just listened to the people walking by, hearing some humorous conversations, and things I wish I didn't hear.
"Hey don't be so shy, I'm a friendly giant. I'm not gonna hurt you." He laughed and I couldn't help but smile. It sounded so sweet the way he said it. I looked up at him just in time for him to look down at me.
He looked so handsome.
"Sorry, it's just this doesn't happen to me a lot". I smiled nervously giving out a light chuckle. "Me either", he laughed, patting me on the shoulder in the process.
Oh my god, he touched me.
I began to control my emotions when I saw that we arrived to the store. We walked into Macy's, trying to find something to buy. He would talk and I just listened to every word like I was taking mental minutes in my head.
James isn't the brightest person on the planet but I don't care. He is perfect the way he is. We small talked not even paying attention to the clothes. My full focus was on him.
"So Aiden." The way he said my name sounded so smooth. "Yes", I said looking up at his gorgeous face. "There's a party next Saturday at Devon Smith's house, you should go. Abby too."
I never liked parties. Abby always dragged me to one every once in a while in the previous years. Every time we attended one, the night didn't end so well for me. I always got drunk because thats basically the only thing parties offered me.
But Abby got drunk at one last year and I had to drive her home. I didn't even have my liscence at that time and we've never been to one since. We had to lie to both our parents just to cover it up, which I didn't enjoy doing. Abby lies to her parents all the time and she never fails to get in trouble.
I thought it over wanting to hold off my answer until later, but the thought of being around James made me say yes.
"Yeah sure." I shrugged my heavy shoulders. I was having such a fangirl moment inside. I couldn't believe I would be at the same party as James. "Cool, that's what's up." He walked around the clothes rack to try and find some pants in his size.
After 30 minutes inside the store we walked out with neither of us buying anything. We decided to walk to H&M to find Kyle and Abby and I was hoping they would still be there. On our way there we talked about random things like what we wanted to be, our favorite color, favorite music and songs. We had a lot of things in common surprisingly.
It felt like a date kinda. I started wondering if maybe he liked me. I shook the thought out my mind due to the fact that I was being naive and unrealistic. Lol nah, not in a million years. Why did he have to be straight?
