Chapter 44

Shailene POV - I go upstairs and change into some clothes and brush my hair. Once I set my brush down I pick up my birth control pill and take it. After swallowing it down with a glass of water. I pick up my purse and head out the door. I get into the wrangler Theo and the kids are waiting on me. Theo cranks up the car as I check and make sure everything is packed. "so who is driving the hummer?" "Jack,Mallory, Jason,Mark, Haley,and the RV is going to be driven by my parents, yours, and Phoebe and dylan, and tanner are riding with them as well. " What about? -" Marci opens the back door before I finish. "Hey guys" she says. Getting in. "Marci is riding with us." Theo says. "That's nice" I say.

We have been driving for hours. I wake up to a pitch black sky. How long have I been asleep?. I feel a light dip in the road. I look over at Theo who looks about dead to the world. I notice we pull into a rest stop. Theo gets out and heads to the back of the car he opens the back car door and shakes the kids awake and Marcy as well. I raise up and unbuckle my seat belt. I feel a slight touch on my shoulder."Shai how did you sleep?" "Good Theo" He walks to my side of the car and opens the door. "Why don't go stretch while I go to the bathroom" he says. "Okay" I say. After he leaves. I go over to my purse about to grab something
But I change my mind. Maybe I should put it off. I mean after all its probably not that I shake my head and toward the bathroom.

When I return I find Theo in the drivers seat with his head on the wheel. He is passed out asleep right now. Marcy and the kids are snoozing as well. I lean forward and kiss him hard on the lips. He open his eyes and starts pawing at my shirt. "No, honey" I tell him. "But babe" "No, now come on" I lead him toward the passenger side. I buckle him in and kiss his cheek. His head falls to the side. I go over to the drivers side and crank up the car. I see Theo's hand grab mine I give his a light squeeze. He squeezes in return. I stop 3 times to throw up, but luckily no one was awake besides me. I get back into the car the last time Theo stirred a little. At about 5:30 in the morning I hear a groan. I look over to see Theo's chocolate brown eyes open."Good morning sleepy head" "Good morning Shailenie Beanie" He says with a grin. I swat at his arm. "How long have we been driving?" He asks. "20 Hours" he looks at me with this WTF look. "Well It takes about 38 hours from simi to Miami." "Shai, I'm hungry" "okay, why don't we stop here at this diner." I say pulling into the parking lot. Its dead. Only your night owls, and truckers are out at this time. We get out. And start heading toward the door. The kids and Marcy sit up at the bar. So does the others. Theo and I grab a table. After we get our orders taken. Theo and I watch some news on the TV. After we eat we get back in the Jeep and head off. My Eyes feel heavy."Shai, let me take over from here" Theo insists. We end up switching off. I lay my head on Theo's shoulder. I start to doze off in a peaceful dream.
