I watched as Chiron introduced himself, well I more watched Neysa look surprised, shake her head, then go emotionless. It was amusing to watch her shock, especially since I don't see emotions very often. I zoned out as Chiron explained about the camp, I'd heard it before. I was pulled out of my thoughts when Chiron called my name, "Nico, would you please escort Neysa to dinner?" It wasn't really a question more a forceful suggestion. "Sure," I told Chiron before I turned to Neysa "come on let's eat." I led her out of the big house and to the food, where the others were waiting. "You can sit with us til your claimed." I told her and she nodded. "Hey Nico, is this the demigod you guys went after?" Annabeth asked
"Yes, my name's Neysa." Neysa told her bluntly. Annabeth looked away an began chatting with the others, I explained how the cups and plates work to Neysa, then showed her how to offer her food to the gods. She filled her cup with sarsaparilla, (I pity you if you haven't had this, its so good.) and her plate with pasta. I don't know why but couldn't help but to glance at her when she wasn't looking, andi couldn't stop my thoughts from going to, 'she's so pretty, but she can't see it' or 'could she ever like me'. I have no idea how those thoughts got there. I was pulled out of my craziness when Leo said, "Neysa?" In an actual serious tone, that means business. "Leo?"she responded, how did they know each other. " How do you guys know each other? " Piper asked the question on everyone's mind. "I met her at one of the homes I stayed in when I was 11 and she was 9 or 10, I don't know. Oh the pranks we pulled, they were great, right Neysa?" Leo said wistfully, I felt some weird emotion well up inside of me, he shouldn't look at her like that, where the hades is this coming from. Neysa brought me out of that emotion when she replied, "Sure, kind of a fire hazard though." Leo blushed and looked away. Neysa didn't talk for the rest of the meal, neither did I, except the usual fake smile and nod or shake of the head. Soon it was time for camp fire, I really didn't want to go, but I had to show Neysa. I motioned for her to follow me, we sat near the others, but far enough so we didn't have to converse. Soon I heard the other campers arrive, and with them came whispers about the new demigod, Neysa. I watched Neysa carefully, she showed no emotion, just looked forward. Soon Chiron and Mr. D arrived, "We would like to welcome a new camper tonight, this is Neysa she's not been cla-" everyone gasps as signs of Aphrodite, Hermes, Hecate, Hestia, Thanatos, and, brightest of all, Zeus appear over her head. Chiron kneels, which we all do the same, and says, "All hail Neysa Adessi, descendant of Aphrodite, Hermes, Hecate, and Thanatos, blessed by Hestia and daughter of Zeus." Chiron announces. We all slowly get up and sit at our seats, too surprised to say anything. Drew breaks the silence when she yells, "This isn't possible, what are you? Huh? What are you some kind of monster, or some freak?" Neysa just blinks and says, "Last I checked I was human," the venom in her voice causes Drew to flinch, "just a tip, barbie, I don't care what you do but get in my way, and you won't want to live anymore." By the end Neysa was practically spitting out every word. Drew sat down and everyone was silent, finally Chiron suggested we sing songs, so we did, well everyone else but Neysa and I. After the camp fire was declared over, Jason came over and showed Neysa to their cabin.
