We all held our breath as we looked at each of the straws in their hands, I saw that Percy had drawn the shortest straw, well that sucks, life just punching you in the face. "Well looks like I need to save the world again." He said laughing nervously, I could see he was scared, poor guy. "Unless someone else wants to take your place, you'll have to go Percy, I'm sorry." Chiron told Percy, he just forced a smile, I hope someone steps up, or he'll break for sure. "Where are we going? What are we doing?" I ask breaking the silence. Nico answers me, "The prophecy only said that we couldn't fail and that Italian blood had to go, it never told us where to go or what to do." he sighed loudly. "Well," Jason began, "we have Italian blood, now what does or the serpents tail will prevail mean?" he questioned, I don't know how he remembered the exact lines. "Dracnae Queen." Percy said, the others nodded along, but I wasn't so sure. "The Dracnae Queen was with the Titans in the war, Chiron killed her. She could be trying to comeback." Percy explained to me, I nodded, that was a major possibility, but I had a feeling that something else was meant to happen on the quest, I think Nico felt it too, he had a strange look on his face. "What does a chained hearth have to do with peace among the Gods?" Hazel asked and Annabeth answered, "It must be Hestia, she's the Goddess of the hearth and she calms the Gods." I thought a bit before saying, "So Italian blood goes and saves Hestia from the Queen and we can't fail or the world will end. It never says where though." Chiron looked thoughtful for a moment before saying, "Lets start with where you've both been." Nico asked first, "Ever been to Indiana?"
"Yea, its been a while though." I replied
He nodded and said, "Lets go see the Hoosiers then." Everyone nodded and I went back to my cabin, I'm pretty sure Jason went to talk to Percy. I sat in my cabin thinking, its been a while since I was in Indiana, a good 3 or 4 years. Last time I was there I had gotten involved with a small gang, we all dispersed after a year or so, but if I can get a hold of one of them we might have somewhere to crash.
I sigh and walk to Nico and Hazel's cabin. I knock on the door and Hazel tells me to come in, "Nico's not here but you can wait for him on his bed" She tells me, pointing to a coffin like bed. I nod and sit on the bed, I wait for about 20-30 minutes before Nico comes in, he's sweaty and out of breath, he must have been training. "I think I have a place to stay in Indianapolis." I say getting straight to the point, he nods a little bit before adorably cocking his head. Wait, did I call him adorable? Nope, no, no I didn't, he's not adorable, nope not at all.....maybe a little. No, no, nope, I need to shut my mind up now. Nico pulls me out if my mental yelling when he asks, "Cool, but you sure it's going to be safe? I mean, where is this place anyway?" All I can say to protect my friend for the time being is, "Its safe, you'll know the rest later, okay?" He looks surprised, but nods, staying silent and surprised. I walk back to my cabin, dinner will start soon, it's been a long day.
Sorry this took so long, so I was thinking maybe Ash or someone would take Percy's place in the quest. I haven't decided, anyone got suggestions?
