Chica's POV
Freddy never left Goldie's side. For three nights he stayed up all night and watched for a sign that his brother would wake up. Nothing happened. Goldie has been disconnected from the world for four days now, and our leader has gotten so frantic that his normally bright blue eyes have dimmed from lack of sleep, and he never eats. Foxy tries to pull him out of his funk, but Freddy's even left the world, sitting in his own daze.
"Freddy, lad, ye need to stop this. Yer going to end up like I used to be," he shook his shoulder. Freddy said nothing, but continued to stroke Goldie's hair and stare at his pale face. Foxy eventually gave up, and returned to his cove in frustration. I walked into the kitchen, and cooked up a slice of pizza for Freddy. He always seemed to come to himself when Mangle or I were around.
"Here, Freddy. You need to eat," I mumbled as I set the pizza next to him. He glanced at me and smiled.
"Thanks, Chica," he replied, then took a bite. I patted his shoulder, and left. I hope Goldie wakes up soon.
Freddy's POV
I can't stand this. My brother hasn't moved for four days. What if he has died? I shake the thought away as I laid my head on his bare chest once more, pleading for his eyes to open. His white shirt now has dried blood all over it, to where only small patches of white can be seen. I feel his heart beat beneath my forehead, then something brushes against my head. I peek up and see Goldie looking at me, a weak grin spread across his pale white face.
"Hi, Freddy," he whispered, running his hand through my messy hair.
"Goldie! Shadow, Goldie's awake!" I cheered. Shadow and Vincent ran in and chuckled at the sight.
"Hi, Goldie," Vincent waved.
"Hi, guys. Did you miss me?" He rasped. I nodded quickly. He has no idea.
"Here, you need to try and sit up," Shadow offered as she pushed him up. He groaned and slowly rose, obviously in pain.
"I missed you, Freddy," he hugged me, laying his head on my shoulder.
"I missed you too, Gold. I didn't have a life without your smile," I kissed his head. Shadow manifested a stethoscope and listened to Goldie's heart and lungs.
"Breathe in as deep as you can, and hold it," she instructed. He did as told and held a deep breath.
"Good. Now let it out," she told him, and he released, coughing hard. I rushed to get him a glass of water, and he downed it in seconds.
"Goldie, I'm ordering you to a night of walking around with Freddy to get your muscles built up again. In the meantime, I'm going to go buy you a new shirt and clean your vest. Got it?" she recommended. He nodded and grabbed for my hand. I gently pulled him to his feet and threw his arm over my neck. Shadow left the pizzeria with Vincent and I guided my little brother around, helping him walk.
"Damnit. Blood soaked my shirt! I must have puked pretty badly, didn't I?" he snarled, picking at his red unbuttoned shirt.
"I wasn't there with you, but Vincent was. You can ask him," I shrugged. We kept walking, well, Goldie shuffling and me walking.
"What did you do while I was out?" he broke the unnerving silence.
"I... never left your side. Not even to go to the restroom. I never slept, which is why I look so restless. You scared me, Goldie. I was unprepared," I hesitated. He stopped moving and so did I.
"Once Vincent and Shads get back, you are going to bed," he stared me down.
"But..." I began. He shut me up by putting his hand up.
"No buts. You need sleep. If you've been awake for four days straight, you're gonna lose your mind. Don't argue with me, just do this for me. Please, Freddy?" He scolded me, then begged with his nerve-wracking silver eyes. I broke, and sighed.
"Ok, Gold. For you, I'll sleep. Happy now?" I pushed his eyes away. He giggled childishly, then took note that the two have returned.
"Here, Goldie. Vincent will help you change your shirt, and I need to scrub the blood out of your vest. Freddy, get your backside to bed, pronto!" She began.
"Yeah, Freddy, go to bed!" my brother nudged my arm with a fist.
"OK, OK, I'm going. Good night, everyone!" I called before shuffling to my bedroom for well-needed sleep.
Goldie's POV
Vincent took me to the security office to help me get my shirt on. I decided to ask him what happened that night.
"Hey, Vince? What happened to me?"
He froze. "You ran to the bathroom and started throwing up. I thought you'd just eaten too much pizza, but then you began puking up only blood, so I called Shadow in. She said she expected this to happen, and told me you were dying. Then everything just became a blur to me," He stated, pulling the tag off my new shirt and slipping the bloody one off. I looked in the mirror and saw how pale I actually was. My chest was also bathed in red. I was handed a wet rag and I cleaned myself off.
"I never thought I was gonna die. What caused me to nearly die?" I inquired.
"She called it servosa kitrantos, or servo deterioration," he held out the crisp white shirt. I slipped my arms into the sleeves and buttoned it with his help. He fixed my collar and aided me in tucking it in. I looked at myself again and saw what I usually see without my vest, which normally tied everything together. Luckily for me, my friend came in with her boyfriend, producing my clean golden vest.
"All good. Put it on," she handed it to me and stood next to Foxy, who wrapped his left hand around her waist. I slipped my vest on, and pulled it down, smoothing the wrinkles. It felt so good to be me again, not a victim of death like I was so many years ago by the same man who I now call a friend.
