I could hear them talking from my room, I heard him say he wouldn't leave again, and that she loved him, I smiled, glad they could finally just... Get on the same page. I couldn't sleep... More so like I didn't want to I was afraid.

I sighed, reaching under my bed and pulling out a bottle. I had a stash under there that no one knew about. I opened the bottle of whiskey and chugged it down, whiskey was my favourite.

I got a bit better since that night, but the feelings came  back, I could see it vividly in my mind, his wild crazed eyes, his hands on me, it was too much. I got dressed, pulling on a black sweater and some sweatpants and quietly sneaking out into the hallway, praying Jade or Tommy didn't hear me and follow me, they tended to be protective of me since that day. I could see Tommy in jades room, she was asleep, but he was wide awake, I treated this like we were on the battlefield and I maneuvered my way quietly into the living room, slowly opening the front door and closing it behind me.

Didn't know where I was going, but it was better than not being able to sleep and staying up all night. I shoved my hands in my pocket wandering down the hallway and into the elevator. I heard footsteps running, then a hand stopped the elevator and they slid it open. I stared at Tommy, sighing.

"Where you goin'?" He asked, leaning on the wall of the elevator and pressing the ground floor button.

"For a walk" Tommy nodded, I was surprised I thought he was going to tell me I couldn't leave. "You?" I asked.

"Ah, to the store, pick up some beer, we're out" I nodded, and we stood silently until the elevator reached the bottom.

We walked outside together, it was a chilly night in Pittsburgh, I shivered, but Tommy seemed used to it, we began to walk our separate ways, but soon enough I could hear him walking behind me.

"You following me?" I asked, looking back at Tommy who walked behind me, I guess he could see everything from there, making sure nothing happened.

"Nah, we're just walkin' in the same direction" he chuckled, I shook my head, I know the store is the other way, there was a store this way but it was farther.

"So why'd you go through my phone?" I asked, Not really getting an answer before.

"Look does it matter?" He shrugged "I best the shit out of the man again, it's done, alright?" I nodded, not planning to bring it up again. "Why'd you shove your hand in my pocket?" I sighed, he liked to get on people's nerves.

"You looked like you were doing drugs, would've don't the same thing to Jade"

"Yeah well I'm not Jade" he stopped walking and I turned to him, standing in the middle of the side walk "what's it to you if I'm poppin' pills or not?" We stared at each other, but I turned away from him and we kept walking. "You got some balls, Naomi" he chuckled.

I pulled out a cigarette, offering him one, I wasn't sure if he liked cigarettes though, but I offered anyways. He took it, put it between his lips and lit it up.

"Aren't you supposed to be getting beer?" Remembering why he was here in the first place, I placed my cigarette in my mouth and lit it too.

"Mhm" he answered, not making any effort to go into any of the stores, I sighed. Tommy was troubled, but weren't we all? I didn't know if he just said that to follow me outside, or if he was going to a specific place and hadn't gotten there yet, but I was kind of enjoying his company.
