I curse under my breath as I noticed that both of my parents were awake watching some sort of action film. I tried to pass them, but it wasn't enough.

My mom looks at me concernedly as she pauses the TV and asks, "we have been worried sick, has been calling you since 11, where have you been?"

My lip curled into a mumble of shite and I fumbled for words. "Jamie's house."

My mom let out a dry laugh, "we called Jamie's mother and she hasn't seen you."

My eyes widen and I decided the truth was finally necessary. "I went to Harry Styles's senior homecoming party."

"The school called today to say you were with me in a fight." My dad chimes in.

In the fight? No. Afterward? Yes! Was principle Washington lying to me? He could not be that way, he knew I was good. It clicked, the dean.

"What are you doing with this guy? He put a young man in the hospital and you went to his party?" My dad sounded enraged.

"I did," I utter in defeat. "It was just a senior party every senior went."

I defended myself by saying Hannah allowed me to keep off the other things she outgrew.

Getting up from the seat, he untangles his arm from around my mom and walks over to me.

He growls, "You reek of weed?" he clenches his jaw.  "I'm sorry to say, but you are grounded until you move out of here."

"But dad.."

"No buts! And I never want to see this Harry Styles around here and I don't want you hanging with him."

"But dad, I'm 18!"

"Under my roof, under my regulations! You want to sneak out to a party with a guy who is getting charges pressed against, smelling like a wild skunk. No, Sarah, that is bad information and I won't have it." He growls.

"I'm not a little girl anymore." Tears start to form in my eyes because my blood begins to boil with him yelling at me. "Plus I wasn't with harry during the fight only after, I told him to stop."

As I was out late without permission, I deserved it, but I'm 18 and can be counted as a young adult.

"You still live in our house, so our rules apply to you, and if you don't follow them, you can forget about prom." My mother chimed in.

"Mom.. not prom."  Tears spill from my eyes.

After turning on my heel and walking into my room, I fell asleep shortly after.

-Tuesday

The next morning, I groaned in bed and sat up once the light blinded my eyes. My sigh was accompanied by a glance at my wall clock. The time was 10:32 am. I curse to myself for being so late to school I had to tell myself I might as well not go. Feeling so sluggish, I was alleviated that it was the weekend and I didn't have to deal with school or people. The pillow beneath my head descended into slumber as I lay back on it.

Getting out of bed again, I roll over in bed, looking up at the feeling, wondering what I should do. The circumstances regarding the party would be best communicated to Hannah today if she is home.

Sluggishly my feet move across my room and to the door, so I could shower.

Once finished I threw my hair into a messy bun and grab my phone that was on the dresser.

"Hey, hey, Are you doing anything today?" I text her.

I sat my phone down, and walking my way to the kitchen to fix something to eat, I grab two eggs out of the fridge, and two strips of bacon.
