New Life- SU Fanfiction

Arrival.

The police officer went to the Gem's  house and asked is they knew who I was. 

"Celeste?" Pearl asked, a confused expression on her face. Her face suddenly brightened. "Oh, Celeste! I know her, I-Uh mean, we, we know her." She gestured to the other gems. Out of all the gems, Garnet was the happiest upon hearing the news about me. Garnet and I clicked, we were extremely close. My father would drop me off on snow days at school and I'd play with Steven and the gems. I'm 3 years older than Steven, but he still made a great playmate when I was 8.

The gems said I could live with them, and I was ecstatic. I couldn't believe it. Apparently they knew my mother, but my father never told me about her. I didn't even know her name.

1 day later, I packed my stuff and was driven to the gem's house. We knocked on the door, and waited for an answer. Steven answered. His face brightened and he smiled. "Celeste!" He exclaimed, wrapping me in a hug. Although I'm older than Steven, he's taller than me by a half an inch. I'm really short for my age. We went inside. I looked at Garnet and sprinted towards her, running into her arms.

"Garnet!" I exclaimed, wrapping my legs around her waist. "I missed you.."

She hugged me tightly before whispering, "I missed you too"

I got down and my hair went up, revealing the scar that went over my eye. Garnet noticed right away and bent down, brushing my hair out of the way. "What happened, Celeste?" I stiffened and pulled away, fixing my hair. "Nothing.." Garnet held my hands in hers and looked into my visible eye. "What happened?" She said calmly. I looked down. "My father punched me, my glasses shattered, and it cut my eye. He took me out of school after that."

She looked at me and hugged me gently as if I'd shatter like a porcelain doll. "Poor baby. That will never happen again. I promise." 

I smiled and fixed my hair before hugging Pearl and Amethyst.

So I found out I'd be sharing a room with Steven. There was a bed across the room for me. I put my stuff on my bed and grabbed my phone, putting my earbuds in and blasting music. I was listening to Sing by My Chemical Romance. I began to sing along quietly. "Sing it for the boys, sing it for the girls, every time that you lose, and sing it for the world."  I sighed. I hummed softly and grabbed my notepad, sketching someone. A frail, fragile girl, trapped. I only used grey, I was trapped.  I tossed my notebook on my bed and went downstairs, running into a wall, causing Amethyst to laugh. I rubbed the bump on my head. "I can hardly see... stupid bad eyesight." 

Pearl looked at me. "Don't you have glasses?" I nodded. "Yeah, but I hate them."

Pearl sighed. "Okay, fine. It's getting late. You should unpack and get to sleep. We begin training tomorrow." I nodded and went up, unpacked and fell asleep, before having the worst nightmare I've had in years.
