I was running. Running from my father, but my knee popped again, causing me to fall. He tortured me, punching me and hitting me. I was thrashing and sweating, and screaming. I suddenly woke up with a jolt, freaked out, and involuntarily backhanded Garnet across the face, causing her glasses to fall and break. She looked at me furiously, and I bolted.

It reminded me just of the last chase with my father. Garnet chased me as I ran out of the house. I decided to take a leap of faith. I jumped off the stairs, only to be suspended in mid-air. Garnet had grabbed my shirt, and was holding me up. "Oh no you don't, young lady." I was too scared to speak, and in an instant, I lifted my arms, causing my shirt to come off and me to fall into the cold sand, just in a thin tank top. As I landed, my knee popped once again. I began to run again before collapsing, shivering and sniffling. Garnet picked me up and looked at me furiously before yelling at me. "How DARE you hit me? You broke my glasses Celeste!" She was yelling and eventually I burst into tears out of fear and guilt. "Please don't hurt me..." I pleaded.

Her face softened and she looked me right in the eyes. "I would never, ever hurt you, Celeste." She wrapped me in a warm hug as I shivered and sniffled, tears pricking at my eyes. But I wouldn't cry. I couldn't. Crying was for weak people, I wasn't weak. Garnet carried me inside and I clung to her, on the verge of panicking.

"I'm sorry for hitting you.. it was a reflex." I said, looking down bashfully.

"It's okay. Sometimes I do things I don't mean either." She said, smiling. "Put on some clothes, we're all going somewhere."
