I Love You

Chapter 6

The next morning everyone was up early. Nobody ate breakfast so they'd have enough space for everything they'd be eating that day. Alex and Angelie watched a movie and pretty much waited for Angelie's parents to get back and take them out to eat. Around four everyone was home and was getting ready to leave, they dressed normally, jeans, design shirts, nothing too special. They went out to Chili's and ordered a buffet. After filling themselves up with an all you can eat buffet, they headed to the movies and watched a film not new to them, but really special to Angelie, A Walk To Remember. Claritsa, Richard and Frances headed to a different movie leaving Alex and Angelie alone to watch an old film. They got out around eleven and decided it was time to head home.
Three days passed like nothing. At the fourth day, They went out to the mall, Frances went along with them this time, they spent most of their day just walking around or sitting in the mall benches joking with each other. Once in a while they headed into the stores and looked around. Nothing that had to do with buying, as Alex was not working at the moment due to his summer vacation. Around six thirty they we called home and their day finished just like that.
The last two days were spent as lazy days, they didn't got out or even do much, just laid in each others arms and watched as the days went by. Once the week ended, Alex's mother picked him up, her car seemed different somehow, dented in in many areas and worn down, making strange sounds as well.

Alex: What happened to the car?
Stella: I hit a bump on the way back and well yeah.
Alex: A bump made that dent on the side.
Stella: Well I might've hit a post on the way here.
Alex: Were you drunk or something?
Stella: What?!
Alex: I mean, why else would you hit all these things on the way here?
Stella: I wasn't drunk Alex, I was tiered and half asleep, I couldn't stop driving and it was a four hour drive, I had to take that drive at night because I wanted to get here early so that we could go buy your school supply early.
Alex: Oh.... OK
Alex: "You're a really bad liar you know, your nostrils still widen when you lie."
Stella: You're still not convinced are you?
Alex: Your nostrils still widen, do you really need to ask that?
Stella: Alex, when the time comes, I'll tell you what happened, at the moment, there's no need to bring that up, OK?
Alex: Yeah, sure.

The drive home seemed to take forever, Stella looking at the road, thinking of something to get her son's mind off the issue and Alex ignoring everything by putting on his head phones and playing the loudest song he had. Upon reaching their home, they were greeted by the loud barks of their Golden Retriever, Charles, not having seen Alex in more than a week had uprisen his happiness upon laying eyes on his owner.
Alex headed directly to his room and just dropped himself in his bed, this feeling became strange and unrecognizable, thanks to the fact he was sleeping in couch for a little over a week. He laid there for hours, allowing the day to pass and pretending to be asleep everytime his mother knocked on his bedroom door. 11:25pm, Alex had caught his sleeping wish, then a small vibration was felt throughout his bed, A message from Angelie.

Angelie: Hey baby.
Alex: Hello Princess, what's up?
Angelie: Nothing much, missing you ALOT!
Alex: Hasn't even been a day love.
Angelie: Oh I know but it's not easy trying not to miss the person I've slept with this whole week.
Alex: I know love, don't worry.
Alex: We'll go out before school starts.
Angelie: Really!? OK?!
Angelie: Btw, what was up with your mothers car?
Alex: Beats me, she just lied and when I caught her in the lie she said "When the time is right, I'll tell you for sure."
Angelie: Your mother's been acting weird lately.
Alex: Tell me about it.
Angelie: What you doing tomorrow?
Alex: Gonna go buy the school supplies.
Angelie: Do you think I could go with you and buy some stuff for myself?
Alex: Yeah, Ill let mom know later.
Angelie: Yayyyy!!!
Alex: What are you feeling?
Angelie: Huh?
Alex: You can't hide that from me, what's going on?
Angelie: its just...... I Miss you..
Alex: Its only been a few hours.
Angelie: I know it's just, I miss sleeping next to you and going to sleep with a kiss to the forehead while you whisper "I Love You Princess."
Alex: I knew you always pretended to be asleep during that.
Angelie: Lol, what can I say, I'm an expert.
Alex: Just for that I won't let mom know you're coming tomorrow.
Angelie: Awwww come on please baby, pleaseeeeeeee!!!!!!
Alex: Begging doesn't really suit you love.
Angelie: I've begged before and you know that.
Alex: Yes you have.
Angelie: So will you tell her?
Alex: Ill think about it.
Angelie: Please Daddy, ill be a good girl I promise.
Alex: Ok princess, I'll let her know.
Angelie: Yayyyy thank you Daddy.
Alex: No problem princess.
Angelie: I'm kinda tiered to be honest.
Alex: Sleep, I'll go tell mom and I'll see you tomorrow.
Angelie: OK baby, I Love You :*
Alex: I Love You too Princess, sleep well.

As their conversation ended he made his way to his mother's room. Before walking in, he listened as she was talking on the phone.

Stella: Yes I've been showing up to the meetings.
Stella: I even cut my own son's birthday short for it.
Stella: Yeah, its only a matter of time before they do.
Stella: He doesn't know anything, no, I've already got someone to care for him when it happens.
Stella: Its best for him not to know.
Stella: I'll call you later and keep you updated.
Stella: Bye.

Alex: "So she keeps lying huh, whatever, I honestly don't give a fuck anymore, just act natural around
her."

(Alex walk in the room to find his mother pretending to sleep.)

Alex: Mom?
Stella: Yeah son?
Alex: We're buying school supplies tomorrow right?
Stella: Yes, why?
Alex: Angelie wants to come along so she could buy some things too.
Stella: OK, on our way the the store we'll pick her up.
Alex: Ok.
Stella: Alex, are you ok?
Alex: Yeah mom, everything's fine.
Alex: "Like always."
Stella: OK, Sleep well.

Alex headed to his room and closed the door behind him, throwing himself in his bed. He grabbed his phone.

Alex: Hey babe, She said yeah.

No response.

Alex: "She's definitely asleep."

(Alex looked through his contacts till he found Emilio.)

Alex: You up?
Emilio: Yeah, its three in the morning, What are you doing up?
Alex: What are you, my mother?
Emilio: Maybe... :/
Alex: Idiot.
Emilio: What's up?
Alex: Well, mom seems to be hiding something from me.
Emilio: Why would that be?
Alex: I don't know.
Emilio: Remember what I told you?
Alex: About?
Emilio: Truth always comes out, so calm down.
Alex: Emilio, that ain't the problem, its that this is the first thing she's ever hidden from me and has actually denied anything happening.
Emilio: You're over reacting dude
Alex: You're right... I'm over reacting about the fact that women went to Angelie's home the morning of my Birthday and told her parents that if anything ever happened to her, that she needed them to look after me.
Emilio: Whoa you serious?!
Alex: Yes Emilio, Angelie was there and she told me everything she heard when she went outside.
Emilio: But did YOU hear her say it.
Alex: Yes, I crept up against the wall that leads to the backyard and heard that part of the conversation, then Angelie confirmed everything.
Emilio: Damn, I really don't know what to say.
Emilio: You're right though, she's hiding something for sure.
Alex: Listen, tomorrow I'm gonna go buy some school supplies, I'll be watching her closely to see what's changed about her attitude since she got back.
Emilio: Ok man, you really shouldn't stress yourself so much with this, its probably something stupidly small.
Alex: She wouldn't be hiding it if it was something so stupidly small dude.
Alex: Anyway, I'll talk to you tomorrow.
Emilio: Sure!
Emilio: Later.

Alex laid in his bed completely
silent, just stuck on that thought.

Alex: "I'm not gonna stop until I find out what it is you're hiding, I'm not staying calm with this."

The thought was truly there, but his desire to sleep became overwhelming, he gave in completely and fell asleep.
