I unbuckled and ran out to the car that was in a ditch. I saw the car up against some trees and I ran to them.
"Mom!" I shouted. "Dad!"
I looked in the window and both of them were unconscious. I opened the car door with all the muscle I had and the car started smoking. I unbuckled my dad and pulled him out. I struggled and his foot was stuck.
"Brian?" I heard my mom's voice.
"Mom!" I looked over Brian.
"Lizzy," she closed her eyes. "Just get him out of here."
"No mama, I need to save you."
I went to her side of the car and it caught on fire. The hood was engulfed in flames and my mom's seat belt was stuck. I saw Justin run down the hill and he grabbed me.
"Lizzy no," he said. "They're going to be okay."
"NO JUSTIN I HAVE TO SAVE THEM," I sobbed. "I HAVE TO."
"Lizzy, you're going to get hurt."
"I don't care!"
The fire was going around the doors and coming inside the car. I coughed as smoke entered my lungs.
"Mommy, please." I cried. "Just hold on."
"We love you Lizzy more than you know. You've made us so proud, I'm sorry."
"Mom, it's okay. I love you," I cried.
She didn't answer. I hugged her and heard nothing. I sobbed and went to my dad's side. He was stuck in the car and I couldn't get him out.
"Lizzy come on," Justin pulled on my arm.
I sobbed and finally let him pull me up the hill and the car exploded. I fell to the ground and cried. Alfredo, Scooter, and Justin all surrounded me and tried to comfort me. Firemen showed up and they put my parents in body bags. I sat on the edge of the road and I was finally calm.
"Do you mind if I check out your arm?" A fireman came up to me.
I looked at my arm that had been burned, I never realized it until now. I stood up and walked to the back of an ambulance.
"Were those your parents?" He asked me.
"Yeah," I answered quietly.
"I'm Brian by the way," he smiled.
Tears ran down my cheeks.
"I'm sorry," he said. "It's hard. I lost my parents last year too."
"What happened?"
"They were murdered."
"Im so sorry," I said.
He poked at my skin and it burned. He wrapped up my arm.
"It's only a first degree burn but be careful, I'm sorry about your parents." Brian said.
I stood up, "thanks."
