Lizzy's POV
My car went up in flames as I slowly felt my eyes closing. When I opened them again I was in the hospital. My mom was sitting beside my bed.
"Hey sweetie." She smiled.
"Mom," I said quietly. "What happened?"
"You got into a bad car accident. Luckily someone found your car yesterday morning in the ditch, you could've died."
"Wish I did." I mumbled.
"I'm really glad you're okay sweetie," she smiled. "I'm sorry for everything."
"So it took for me almost to die for you to actually care about me." I said. "That's really sweet mom."
"I realize I haven't been good to you and I apologize for that. I want to start over."
I started to cry. "You have no clue how long I've waited for this. I've needed you mom."
She hugged me. "I know baby, I'm sorry."
Luke walked in and suddenly that night came rushing back.
"What are you doing here?" I asked him.
"Well I came to check on my girl." He went to kiss my cheek but I slapped him.
He put his hands around my throat and I gasped for air.
"HEY STOP IT!" Mom shouted.
I scratched his arms and tried to pull him off of me. I couldn't breathe and it was getting harder and harder to fight back. He finally let go and I coughed as I caught my breath again. Mom wasn't in the room.
"Like I told you before, it isn't over till I say it's over." Luke said.
"No, you can't control me." I said to him.
Mom returned with security guards and they dragged him out.
"You okay baby?" Mom asked.
"I'm fine." I told her. "When can I go home?"
"Tomorrow."
Returning to school about a week after my accident was very difficult. People would stare as I wobbled around on crutches.
"Lizzy did you hear?" Chloe came up to me.
"What?"
"Well you got into a car accident the same day as the Justin Bieber concert. So you missed the show."
"Yeah thanks for rubbing it in." I said. I had third row seats to his show. I absolutely loved Justin.
"He dedicated a song to you!" She said.
"What?" I nearly pissed myself.
"Yeah. He dedicated One Less Lonely Girl to you." She took out her phone and showed me a video.
"This one goes out to Lizzy Brown, she got in a terrible car accident and was found this morning. Wish she could be here. My prayers go out to her and her family." He sang One Less Lonely Girl.
"No way," I was crying. "That is the most amazing thing ever."
"I know," Chloe smiled and skipped off.
I went out to the car where my mom was waiting for me. I got in and she drove us home. I went up to my room and closed the door. I kept to myself for most of the night and I thought about Justin a lot.
The next day at school, Sofia my little sister, came up to me and started crying...
"Sofia what's going on?" I hugged her as I calmed her down.
"These girls they've been really mean to me lately. I guess I just needed a hug." Sofia wiped her eyes.
"What have they been doing?"
"They've been calling me a whore and a slut."
"Why?"
"Because Lizzy."
"Sofia why?" I said.
"Because I hooked up with the quarterback a few weeks ago."
"You brought that on yourself." I started walking away.
"Wow." Sofia said.
"Don't do slutty things and you won't be called a slut." I told her.
"You're the one with a 19 year old!" Sofia shouted.
"Not anymore!" I shouted back.
I finished the day and as I wobbled out to my mom's car I tripped over something and fell.
"I'm so sorry." I heard someone say.
I looked up and Brian Walker was holding his hand out for me. He was the captain of the basketball team. His brown eyes were shining in the sun light. He helped me up and flashed his gorgeous smile. I felt my face getting warm, I've had the biggest crush on Brian since 7th grade.
"You're Lizzy Brown right?" He said.
"Yes."
"I hope you get better. I hope to see you dancing again soon." He winked.
"How did you know I danced?" I smiled.
"Because you're Lizzy Brown. Everyone knows you're a dancer. An amazing one too by the way." He nudged me a little.
"Wow thank you. Hey you think you could actually get the basketball team to win a game this year?" I winked at him.
"Ouch." He laughed. "Well we'll see, we've got quite a bit of new people."
"I'll be there to support." I smiled.
"Good, maybe you can wear my jersey too."
"I'd like that." I said.
"Okay, hey text me sometime."
"Well I don't have your number."
He took out a sharpie and bent down. He wrote his number on my cast.
"There, now you do." He smiled.
"Alright. I'll text you later." I said as my mom pulled up.
He opened the door for me. "Hey Ms. Brown!" He said.
"Hello," she waved.
I sat down and he closed the door, the window was rolled down.
"Take care of yourself Liz," he leaned up against the window.
"You too Brian." I smiled and waved as my mom drove off.
"He was cute, who is that?" Mom smirked at me.
"That was Brian."
"Well I hope he treated you better than Luke did."
"Me too mama." I smiled.
So what if Justin wasn't the one who saved me? My life would be so much different....
