"Umpf" I groan as I hit the cold hard marble floor of the Room of Mirrors, yes the very same one in Versiles Rome.

Mirrors had power especially the ones that had been gathered her over the centuries. The room was like a layover before I got to where I was supposed to be. I sigh to myself and stand up to take a look at my surroundings. It was a beautiful site all the mirrors from different realms, time periods and lands dotted the walls and pedastals. The one in question wasn't a actually made of glass but ink from the inkwell of a very important king in the deminstion I was going to. I sighed to myself as I stared at my reflection, the imperfect face of a scared little girl stared back at me. Eyes too big, bottom lip to full, the angry fingers of a black mark surrounding one eye, it was hideous to look upon. It was one of the few set backs of traveling whatever time or place you landed in your clothing changed and any 'extras' were stripped away.

I needed to be quick or someone would see me, I uncapped the end of the canister and poured the contents out in my hand. Dust a light grey color closely resembling ash with flecks of glimmering color lay in my palm. I stood there awed as all the information I would need to know about the world and the person I was to look after filtered into my mind. I was still for a moment longer before I tipped the contents of my hand into the bowl and watched it swirl as tendrals of mist pured out of it.

„Rouxsi,Palace Gardens" I whispered as I leaned into the bowl, falling right into its inky depths.

I landed on my feet in a patch of perfectly emerald green grass, it was just at my waist and gave the surrounding an almost exotic look. I was dressed plainly in a pair of white shorts and a blue flowered top and sandals. I heard the crunching of leaves from behind me and started forward trying to get away just as I was grabbed up.

"Young Lady I did not set out these cloths for you this morning." Hissed the person who had grabbed me

I looked up to fine an older woman in a black skirt and ruffled white top, a tight bun balancing angrily on her head.

I kicked back and felt my foot connect with something soft, my assailant groaned and the dropped me. I shot to my feet as fast as I could and pelleted forward into the long grass. I crawled back into it until I couldn't see the person from before or very little of anything else.

"That's it I can't stand this anymore, I quit. " She screamed

"Thank God," Whispered a little voice from next to me in the bushes.

It was almost like looking into as mirror we were so much alike, the only difference was the yellow sundress and orange jacket she was wearing. Her face was also more rounded then mine was and her hair a lighter shade. Her hair was pulled up into a high ponytail and tied with an orange ribbon with a pendent. The pendent was the family's crest from the scroll, so this was Breeze Ora.

"Hello, I'm Brigham your Guardiankako. " I said

„I learned about that in hisory class, but I dind't think you were real. So you were made to look like me? That means I'm older." She whisped as she walked around me in a circle.

"Of course I'm real and no I wasn't made to look like you, I was born this way. And no I'm older then you." I groused at her

„I'm four in two weeks." She crowed happily

„I'm five today."

That was the begining of one of my firsts real friendships. For the next to weeks we were insepreable, her parents were happy that she wasn't off somewhere causing trouble. They thought that when she talked to me that I was just her imaginary friend, no one coud see me but her. I showed my shapeshifting abiliries and she showed me her elemental powers. We knew each others worse fears and greast dreams, I told her about my familyand showed her my mark. That time was blissful, th eonly time we weren't running for our lives or worried about being discovered.

The day before Breeze's fith birthday I was stabbed to death in her garden right in front of her.

Palace servents had started putting up decorations for the party and the delivary boys came and went overloaded with various goods. Royalty from all over the world had come to celebrate the birthday of Princess Breeze Ora of the Elemental Nation. They slipped in easily there was just to many people, everyone had brought their own servent to attend to them.

Breeze and I were playing hide and seek when I saw them, I knew they were ferom my world because they could see me.

„Did my father send you?" I asked as I walked over to the two men.

They wore twin looks of absolute pain and horror when I spoke to them, they probably hoped they would never find me here. I was confused by there lack of speech and just before I could ask about it they lunged towards me. I dodged one but couldn't get away from the other, I felt the white hot pain of soming in my abdoman. I looked down to find a blad buried up to the hilt in my lower stomach a slow circle of blood begining to form.

I looked back up at the man to find them scurrying away diasapearing around a bush as they fled. I felt like I was drowning, I couldn't breath as dark blood poured from my mouth. A scream so terrible it felt like the person it came from was the one stabbed, filled the air.I dropped to the ground and held the knife in place fearing what would happen if I pulled it free from my guts. The world began to sway around me sound getting farther away as I fainted as the pain began to ballon, getting worse and worse.

When I came to I was hovering over the spot I had died, I felt the shift in the air as the doors to my home closed for good. I could never return not without a body, I would haunt this place for all of eternity. After a while I floated away swooping over the grounds and listlessly puttering along as I pondered everything that had gone on. It took me most of the day to figure out.

Breeze had come to sit next to me as I reminsed about the old days. She said nothing only leaned into me as silent tears poured down my face.

„I have to go to him" I whispered

„I know" She replied

I need him to know the truth then I have to go home." I could feel it the pull to return was there, already pulling me back to the place I came from.

„I know." She whispered as she also started to cry. „I don't want you to go I know it's selfish but, I need you."

„It is selfish, but that is why we are friends because we are selfish people."

„ B what if he...?" She whispered started to say the same thing I had been asking myself.

„I don't know"
