The surfer hottie(Chapter 1)
Melanie POV:
"don't you forget to call me once you get there, I'm going to miss you so much." my best friend Baylie said through tears.
We were at a cafe in the airport waiting until it was time for me to go. " I'm going to miss you too, but don't worry i will try to call you everyday, okay?" i reassured her trying not to cry.
She nodded in response wiping away her tears. I was one of those people who didn't like to show my feelings, even sometimes to my best friends, but as i saw she was trying to hold back more tears i couldn't help but start to cry.
Baylie reached over the table and held my hand, "Its okay Mel don't cry, you know i cant help it when i see you like this, i will get more teary. you are supposed to be the strong one." i have always been the one to keep it in control, but i couldn't help it, who was going to be there for Baylie?
i dried up my tears with a napkin, and tried to be strong for her. " okay, no more crying for both of us. Now, where is your brother with our darn coffee?" i asked trying to change the subject.
Her brother, Liam, drove us to the airport. Baylie and Liam are twins, and my two best friends. They both had the same golden brown hair, flawless good looks, and sweet personality. Liam had blue/gray eyes, while Baylie had hazel blue.
i had a huge crush on Liam, he and i flirted like crazy but i doubt he liked me other than in a friend type of way. We have been really close ever since we became next door neighbors when i was seven.
Me and Liam were always together when we were little, but as we started growing up i could see that we were also growing apart. i mean we still hung out and talked like before but I'm guessing things change. While Liam was finally noticing that a lot girls liked him, i was finally noticing i needed a girl best friend help me through some things. i started to get closer to Baylie, and before you know it me and her were even closer than i was to Liam. i doubt that he minded. i mean what guy would like shopping, sleepovers, gossip, and talking about boys?....some might but not Liam. He was more into sports, going out with girls, getting lucky and what not..hanging out with his guy friends and doing what guys do. I mean we are are still kinda close and hang out, but just not all the time.
Liam and i mostly either rebuild his car that he is obsessed with or we go surfing. We were both pretty good at surfing, but he was way better. As for his car, its almost finished thanks to me. i helped Liam alot with his car. When my dad was alive he taught how to work with cars, he was a racer as a living. it sucked that his job killed him, i was depressed for a few months but Liam and Baylie helped me through it.
i looked around the cafe and of course Liam would be flirting with the girl that works there. They were both talking and laughing. He was holding our drinks but made no sign that he was coming back to our table anytime soon. i turned back in my seat and saw that Baylie also noticed her brother.
She knew that i had a crush on him and always tried to make me confess but i always denied it. It wasn't obvious or anything, she just knew me. she raised her eyebrows as if questioning if i was alright with Liam and that girl, i smiled at her. i was way used to seeing him with a girl, he had a different one every other week.
"should you interrupt the chat up or should i?" i asked Baylie with a slight smirk. she laughed " i will, i want my coffee now, and its your time right now he shouldnt waste it on that random girl."she pouted, then stood up.
"Hey! Li-Li-Kins!" Baylie waved her arms wildly getting Liams attention while still standing by her chair.
Both Liam and the girl turned to look at her. Liam was giving her a look that said 'please dont do this right now'. i burst out laughing.
