Melanies POV

First period went on OK. Mr. Haltom was nice and he explained what he was going to be teaching us over the year.

Most students ignored me but once in a while I would catch some staring.

Damon included.

 As soon as I caught him glance at me he would quickly look away.

Algebra wasn’t my best subject. I barley passed algebra1…..and geometry...

Let’s just say Math wasn’t my best subject.

I packed up my backpack and stared at the clock. The classroom was full of loud talking.

There was one minute left of class.

Finally, the bell rang.  All the students rushed to the door and tried to exit all at once. I stayed behind them near my desk not wanting to get shoved.

I noticed Damon also stood by his desk, looking bored but a little impatient.

The doorway cleared and I rushed through the door. I felt someone bump into me, which made me stumble forward a little.

A hand reached out to steady me.

 Even though I had an idea who it was, I turned around to see.

And of course, it was him.

He was still holding my arm, “a little clumsy, I see.” Damon said glaring at me.

I felt my face heat up. “I’m not clumsy; you are the one who bumped into me!” I said angrily.

“Well I didn’t see you there.” He said with a smirk.

What was up with him and his brother smirking all the time?

“There was no one else in the freaking room, are you blind?” I yelled.

I bet he just bumped into me on purpose.

He rolled his eyes, “No need to be yelling, get over it. I barely pushed you.”

I felt so annoyed with him. “Oh why don’t you get over it you butthead.”

He laughed at my insult.      I looked down and noticed he was still holding my arm.

“You can let go of me now.” I said looking up at him with a glare.

 He quickly let go, and looked a little embarrassed.
