Darkness...

"Chloe, you're such a dork!"

Darkness is the only thing I see now.

I smiled and admired the way Luke's eyes crinkles when he laughs.

I don't know what time it is.

"Can I kiss you?" He whispers softly, his hands instinctively wrapped around my waist. I laid my head on his chest as he held me, my head burrowing into his shirt.

I don't know what day of the week it is.

I looked up at him as he tilted his head downwards. A shy grin flashed across his face and I just blinked in awe. He was perfect... he really was.

I don't know anything.

Instead of answering, I stood on my tiptoes then, and brought my lips to his... kissing him oh... so... softly...

All I know is darkness.

I felt his quiet gasp as he tensed, before he realized what was happening and deepened the kiss. I'm sure he felt my smile as he responded with his own.

Darkness surrounds me... and it's the only thing I look forward to because at least, with the darkness around me, I know that I'm safe from him.

"What if love is a feeling to believe in?" It was meant to be a soft whisper to nobody in particular.

I couldn't sleep again and I started to think, overthink if you must.

I was scared, scared to fall in love but at the same time... I wanted to challenge it. Maybe love was something that really was worth fighting for?

Staring at him now... in the moonlight, he looks just like an angel in disguise.

Lying next to him like this, I could forget about all the things that stresses me. For one second of my life, I don't have to worry about everything that weighs me down. Just being near him calmed me. As he runs his fingers at the small of my back, like it were a canvas, I felt at ease. His fingers drew soft circles across my skin as he held onto me, a sly smile resting on his face.

I wasn't sure what time it was, but it was pretty evident that neither of us were asleep anymore. By the pitch blackness that danced outside of the window, it was obvious that it was still dark. The city lights behind him had gone to sleep... and the whole world was quiet and undisturbed.

Thinking about everything now, I didn't mind though... because to me, it seemed that the world was watching us. I didn't need the sun to be up because his blue eyes were the sun to me; they gave me all the light that I needed.

His mouth was just centimeters away from mine and I couldn't keep my mind away. It was clear by the way that he tossed and turned restlessly that Luke couldn't go back to sleep either. His blonde hair was matted and tousled when he looked up at me, those bright eyes once more leaving me in a state of awe.

His whispered then, "Are you still awake?"

"Still dreaming."

Luke grins at my answer and I just stare at him back with blinking eyes. He's the only one I'll ever be able to see clearly... the only one I'll ever be able to truly love and I know that there was no denying those feelings in my facial expressions.

Despite how scared I am for falling in love with Luke Hemmings... it was already too late, because I already had.

He pulls me closer at that exact moment and I'm so close to him... close enough to hear the rhythmic beating of his slow heart in my ears. His chin rests lightly on the top of my head and I let my own fall onto his chest... fitting together easily as if we were connecting puzzle pieces.
