Chapter 8

Amy’s P.O.V

            The party was going great. Everyone was getting on and I didn’t see anything that could go wrong so I thought I’d just stick with Jack since he said he had something to tell me.

‘Amy, I need to talk to you, can we go in the garden or something?’

‘Sure,’ I replied. He seemed really worried so I quickly led him into the garden and I sat down on the bench, far away from other people. He carefully sat down next to me, almost scared that it would break under his weight.

‘Don’t worry, it wont break,’ I told him. He looked at me and smiled.

‘So what do you need to talk to me about?’ I asked.

‘Well, it’s more like I need to tell you something.’ He looked down at the grass and shuffled his feet a little.

‘Jack, if there’s a problem you can just tell me. I’d try my best to help you…’ I prompted him.

‘No it’s not that,’ he replied. After a few moments of silence he moved himself closer to me and faced me.

‘I really like you Amy.’

‘Um…I like you too Jack.’ I replied, unsure of what to say.

‘I mean, you always make me happy and you are so beautiful inside and out that you are almost the only thing I think about. Your smile makes my heart beat faster and every time you tuck your hair behind your ear I wish I did it for you. Amy, I want to be with you.’ He looked at me in the eyes and I felt a current of electricity running through my veins and I knew that he felt it too.

‘I’m sorry, I must be really freaking you out. I’m going to go.’ He got up and started walking away but I chased after him and placed myself in front of him.

‘Please don’t go Jack, I like you too. Your smile makes me feel butterflies in my stomach and you always make me laugh even when I’m not in the greatest mood. Just stay--’

            Before I knew it Jack had pulled me towards him and pressed his lips to mine in a mind smoldering kiss. At first I was so shocked that I tried pulling away but then I realized that it was what I wanted so I let myself go. Our lips moved in unison and I forgot about everything and everyone around us. As we kissed, I felt these waves of electricity resounding through my body and mind.

            All too soon Jack pulled away and looked into my eyes. We were so close. I could feel his hot breath against my face.

‘I’m sorry that was really sudden,’ he said.

‘No, don’t worry. It was…nice,’ I said stupidly. Really, all you could come up with? Stupid girl.

He pulled a cheeky grin and said, ‘So where does that leave us?’

‘I don’t know.’ I smiled, ‘What do you think?’

‘Well I was thinking I could take you out tomorrow evening so we can talk about it then.’

‘Sounds like a plan,’ I replied.

Jack puts his hand behind my back and I felt little fireworks spreading by his touch. We headed back inside to get a drink. All I could think about was: How much better can my birthday get?

Okay guys, I'm sorry it's so short it's just that I have a whole load of exams and revsion to do and I have such little free time :( But I really am trying. So please don't give up on me okay?
