Jack’s P.O.V

I didn’t want her to leave. She was so interesting and I wanted to know a lot more about her. Her dazzling smile made me all happy and fluttery inside and her long chestnut hair was so beautiful that I had to resist the strong urge to stroke it with my hand. It was strange to have such feelings for someone after only knowing them for a day.

Yet this girl had to leave and I really could not bear the fact that I might never see her again, so I quickly took my phone out and asked for her number. She looked quite surprised.

‘Um yeah sure,’ she smiled, again. She never stopped smiling. I smiled back. We exchanged numbers and I brought her into a hug and wound my fingers in her hair as I really couldn’t stop myself. I felt her stiffen against my chest so I let her go.

‘I had fun meeting you today Amy.’

‘I had fun meeting you too,’ the corners of her lips tilted up into a small smirk.

‘I’ll keep in touch, have a safe journey home and text me when your there,’ I said to her.

‘Okay then. Bye,’ she replied.

‘Bye,’ and with that she turned round and headed off into Turnham Green station. I watched her until I could see her no longer and then headed back home where Eliza and Finn were waiting.

‘Well you were gone quite some time weren’t you?’ Finn questioned as soon as I got back.

‘I told you I had to go get something,’ I replied.

‘No you didn’t, Jack. You just wanted to hang with that girl didn’t you? God, she’s only seventeen!’

‘I know man, I know. I just wanted to talk to her a bit since we didn’t really speak to each other today.’ I lied.

‘What makes you think that I didn’t see you staring at her all day?’ he asked.

‘What do you mean?’

‘Really Jack? You know what I mean.’ He sighed and went to the kitchen.

Yeah, I did know what he meant. But I didn’t want to talk to him about it. My brother could be a real jerk sometimes, and if I tried to tell him things then he’d probably only make them worse for me. However he was my brother after all, so I loved him nevertheless.

I walked upstairs into my room and flopped onto the bed to check my emails and Facebook messages. Once again I was greeted with the thousands of friend requests people sent me. It was quite ridiculous.

I wondered whether Amy knew who Finn and I actually were. She showed no sign of knowing anything about us though, so there was no way of telling. I came to the conclusion that it was time for me to do some research and decided to browse through Eliza’s new ‘friends’ on Facebook. Soon enough I found Amy’s account, she was called Amy Stevens. I immediately added her and hoped that she would accept the request, or would she think I was some weird guy that stalked her?

Later on I fiddled around with the editing of a new video Finn and I made and listened to music on my phone. About half an hour later I received a text.

Amy:

I’m home

I immediately replied.

Cool. Do you wanna meet next week?

She’d probably be thinking I was some desperate guy. Well I wasn’t, but I really wanted to forget about what happened between me and Samantha. We were together for eleven months and I really thought that she was the one. But she broke my heart after going off with some other guy at a party. But that wasn’t the worst of it…she made sure that I saw her. It was basically her way of breaking up with me. I haven’t spoken to her since.

My phone buzzed.

Amy:

That was a bit sudden

Yep. She did think I was weird. Although I think that’s what girls like about me, I joked to myself.

Seriously though, what about Tuesday evening for dinner?

I just needed to act casual, and then she wouldn’t think anything of it. I was texting her whilst looking at her profile pictures. God, I was such a stalker. But hell she was gorgeous.

Amy:

Alright, tell me the four w’s.

I counted with my fingers just to check if I got them right. I think they were: who, what, where and when. I thought for a bit and then decided on what would be done.

How about us two go get a pizza takeaway and eat it at Ravenscourt Park at seven?

I waited impatiently for Amy’s reply. But it didn’t come for a very long time, maybe an hour, until at last I was notified on Facebook that my friend request had been accepted! Then, straight away, I got a message.

Sorry, I chat better with Facebook.

I think that’s a good idea, but you’d better impress me because I’m Italian.

Wow I was not expecting that. Amy Stevens is Italian? Who would have ever known? I replied as quickly as I could.

That’s cool! You’ll have to speak to the cashier as I cannot speak Italian for my life.

We spoke some more and then decided that I’d pick her up at her house at six thirty. Then she just wasn’t online anymore so I guessed that she was having dinner. I logged off and then plodded back downstairs to join the others.
