Ronan's POV:
I had the best sleep of my entire life next to my mate. My mate. I loved the thought, and I didn't love much besides my family, the pack and to an extent alcohol. I only every drank when the stress of being and Alpha became too much, but when I did drink I got hammered. It wasn't a good habit, and I will quit it for my mate.
My mate. I thought. My mate. Manon. I felt around the bed with my hand searching for her before giving up and opening my eyes to the bright light shining to the window. After my eyes adjusted to the blinding light, I panicked after discovering that Manon wasn't in bed or even in the room.
I sniffed the air, catching her scent. It was strong, she couldn't of left more than 30 minutes ago. I rushed out the room and headed down stairs, inconveniently getting lost in the halls. After finally finding the stairs I saw her walking by the bottom. I rushed down grabbing her pulling her into my chest.
"I thought you left me. I was so worried." I stated trying to calm down. I looked into her beautiful grey eyes. "I couldn't leave you." She said with a smile. I was containing my happiness, so I pulled her impossibly closer kissing her head then her sweet lips. "Good, because you're mine only." I joked although being quite serious.
My happiness was short lived because of two very different reasons. One being because my mother was frantically running with my father in trail to me and my mate, and number two being I just realized I was in front of other Alphas, packs, my mate and my parents in my boxers.
My mom pretty much tackled Manon, pinching, grabbing and doing who knows what to her. My father came shortly after and started a conversation which I quickly realized I was not apart of. Instead of listening and following along, like I probably should have, I zoned out on my mate. I stared at her face looking at every detail, which also included a little scar near her hairline. I was in a mental argument over whether to ask her about it.
Were scar stories a dude thing? Would she prefer me to pretend it doesn't exist? Would she think I'm inferring it makes her less beautiful? Would she think I'm creepy for noticing a practically invisible mark. What if it's a birthmark? Does she even know it's there? Of course she knows you dingus. No one suffers head trauma and doesn't notice. My wolf scolded at me in annoyance.
I'm not a dingus. I replied to him. Before he could continue our little conversation I blocked our mindlink and continued to watch Manon. All her simple gestures mesmerized me. She talked with her eyes and hands. She would raise her hands and bounce them along with her words. Her eyes would illustrate what she was saying getting bigger the louder she went, which wasn't very loud. It was a great performance that could easily be overlooked.
Eventually my mom ran off and dad left after giving her a hug, which aggravated my wolf. He's family and mated may I add. I mocked my wolf who only responded with a shallow humph.
"I'm sorry about them." I told Manon. She turned to me smiling. "There's nothing to be sorry about, I think they're a riot." I chuckled. "Well wait until you have to live with them." She giggled and I let out a nervous laugh. "Live with them?" She asked. "Well yeah. You and me in our house and them in their cottage in our pack." Her face formed a little smile. "What makes you think I want to live with you?" She said smirking and I could tell she was fooling around.
"What makes you think I wanted to live with you?" I stated squinting my eyes. "You're stinky."
Pretending to be offended she opened her mouth and placed her hand over her heart. "Well you're big and take up too much of the bed. Besides I had my eyes on someone much more handsome." My wolf let out a growl. "I am terrified, Alpha Huntsman." she said monotone starting up the stairs. Quickly I grabbed her from the behind throwing her over my shoulder. She let out a gasp along with profanities as I ran up the stairs. I opened the door to her room tossing her on her bed. She bounced landing on her stomach where I then laid on top of her. "Alpha Huntsman, I believe you're squishing me." She stated with a groan.
I rolled off to the other side of the bed, then pulled her into my chest. "Don't call me Alpha." I stated. "I was only joking around." She replied. "I know, Luna Quinns." She made a gagging sound. "Now you're making me feel like my mom. All old and proper." I let out a silent chuckle.
She started playing with the tips of her fingers and I pulled her impossibly tighter into my chest. We stayed like this for minutes in comfortable silence. "I should start packing." I whispered. "Leaving me so soon?" She asked with her eyes closed. I could tell she was nearing sleep. "I could never leave you." I stated remembering her telling me the same thing. "Then shouldn't I pack?" She asked. "I wanted to buy you everything once you got settled in." She let out a small breathy laugh and rolled over out of bed.
"What are you doing?" I questioned as she fumbled through her closet pulling out a bag. "Packing." She stated pulling out clothes and haphazardly tossing them into her bag. Once she finished she dropped her bag and got dressed in some camo cargo pants and a grey tee shirt.
I packed my things as well as got dressed in some comfy clothes, it was going to be a long drive.

I started loading the car as Manon said goodbye to her family and friends. I haphazardly tossed my things into the car, but took time to place her bag gently. I closed the doors to the back of my truck and leaned against the bed waiting for Manon. She gave hugs to each person waiting which also included some mutt. I let out a growl in anger, hoping that Manon didn't hear. She finished and jogged to my car. I opened the passenger door for her. She whispered a thanks and buckled herself in. I got in the drivers side and started to follow my parents' car.
She gave a final wave through the window and let out a small sigh leaning her head back on the headrest. I was still annoyed about some mutt touching my mate. "Who was that?" I asked. "Well there was my dad, mo-" I interrupted. "The guy." I answered shortly. "No need to be so prissy."she stated. "And that was Seth, my friend. Who is in fact mated." She stated.
"Sorry." I sighed. You're afraid of losing her. My wolf states. Well so are you. I finish, blocking him out. We sat in silence in the car. Eventually I realized my parents were driving Grandma speed so I quickly sped passed them earning a honk from my dad. I gave a shallow laugh. Manon just sat smiling and I wanted to break the silence.
"So let me guess." I stated and Manon turned her head towards me. "You were the type of kid who played Barbies and house." She laughed showing her pearlie whites. "I think you have placed me in the wrong type of category." She states. "I did play with Barbies a few times." she started before I could laugh. "So I think I know you pretty well." I chuckle. "Let me finish." she glared at me playfully. "I played with Barbies two or three times, only when my GI-Joes needed some bitches." I laughed and she giggled at me.
"I guess you don't know me all that well." she laughed while wiggling her eyebrows.
Most of the ride we spent playing 20 questions. Which is how I found out she went to WAFS. She didn't seem to want to talk about it so I dropped it and talked about other things until she fell asleep.
I pulled up to my house and quietly carried Manon inside to our room. I placed her on the bed and covered her with the comforter. I went back out to the car and grabbed all our things and decided to watch some tv.
