Ronan's POV

I can't believe I hurt her again.  We've been so good the past week.  We were even joking, and she didn't flinch or move away anytime I got close to her.  She actually smiled and laughed, she even tried to annoy me.  I actually believed that we were going to make it work.

I guess my father was right, it was only the heat.  Seeing her in pain hurt me.  She refused to open the bond, and now I know why.  It would be easier to leave me if we weren't connected.  She was planning on acting on it, leaving.  I can't blame her honestly.

Sometimes I get mad, sometimes I feel like I'm the only one trying here.  I know she shouldn't have to, I am the one who screwed it all up, but it's like she playing with me.  I know it's not on purpose, Manon, although she's seen and done things no one should ever have to witness, is innocent and near clueless when it comes to relationships.

In the morning she's begging me to take her, and hours later she's trying to avoid me.  I'm trying, I'll do anything to make her happy, but I never know what she wants.  Even when things were going smooth before, she never told me if she wanted anything.

She wanted to go train, and instead of asking, she snuck off.  I mean I probably wouldn't have let her, but at least I would have known she was bored.

I could try to blame her, but in the end I still know I'm the ass.

"Apparently you don't want to go with me."  Her words stayed stuck in my head.  I shouldn't of been short with her, she was deciding, and even if she were to say no, it's her decision, and it's my job as her mate to respect that.

I decided to wait for her so I could apologize and see if she still wanted to go.  I was waiting downstairs at first for 10 minutes, I figured she was taking her time getting ready.  Then 30 minutes, and I figured she was showering.  When she was upstairs for nearly an hour I decided she wasn't coming down.

I still wanted to apologize, so I made my way upstairs.  The floor creaked silently with each step.  I knocked on the door.  "Manon?"  She didn't reply.  I knocked on her door again.  "Manon, are you okay?"

There was no reply again.  "Manon, I'm coming in." I opened the door to see her laying on the bed.  She was asleep, her knees up to her chest.  I let out a silent laugh seeing her socks.  She always wore socks around the house because her feet were always cold.

She pulled her knees closer to her chest, I figured she was cold.  I pulled the blanket over her, doing my best not to wake her up.  She grabbed the sheets lightly, moving in her sleep.  She was always a light sleeper.

After tucking her in I wanted to give her a kiss on the forehead, but decided against it.  I left the room, as quietly as I could, but apparently I wasn't so quiet.  As I reached the door Manon's soft voice filled me.  "Ronan?"  I stopped and turned around.

"I didn't mean to wake you up, sorry." I made my way over to the bed, sitting on the edge.  She wiped her eyes with one hand, using her other arm to perch herself up.  "It's okay." She mumbled. I played with the fabric of the blanket, inhaling deeply trying to figure out what I wanted to say.
