Ronan's POV
After finishing up with the rouges and spending a few hours running the border I easily decided it was time to go back to Manon. Today she was going to visit Piper. I really didn't like her leaving the house, especially if she was going to be around other males. Although I didn't want her to leave I also realized I was being a little bit of an a-hole not letting her outside. But what if she liked another male better than me? Or left me? Or got attacked by rouges? I couldn't stand the thought of not knowing where she is, but I figured if she were with Piper what could seriously go wrong?
I walked up to our house and opened the door. "Manon?" I yelled after I couldn't find her. Her scent was faint and she probably didn't come back from this morning at Piper's. I ran to Piper's house barely remembering to close the door. I sprinted. Quickly I ran through our territory. We had a pack house, but most families wanted to live in cottages or small houses. Finally I reached Piper's house and eagerly knocked on the door. I waited. No answer. I knocked again, no answer.
I ran to the open window and peeked inside. There was no one. Where is mate? My wolf whimpered in my head. I sat on the front steps with my head in my hands. Where could she be? Then it hit me in the face. Today was Friday. Piper was working at the pup's school. If Piper was at school then so was Manon. I ran to the school hearing the sounds of small pups yelling inside.
Pups. We will have lots of pups. My wolf cooed in thought of his mate. Lots. I agree. I try to clear my head of my wolf and go up to the school house. I open the door and the children immediately scatter to the outside.
I don't even say anything, I just walked to Manon and claimed her lips. After I lowered my head into the crook of her neck, inhaling her scent. She smelled like a sugar cookie. It felt nice to finally be back from duties and with my mate. "I missed you so much today." I whispered next to her ear. "Me too." She replied and I could feel her smiling against my shoulder.
"Are you hungry?" I asked separating us. Before she could reply her stomach gurgled and I laughed. I'll take that as a yes. "Sorry I haven't eaten lunch." She said with a shy smile. "Why?"
"I forgot all my lunch money at home." I chuckled.
"Okay love birds, your making me toss cookies over here." I heard my sister joke from the other side of the room. I saw Manon blush. "We'll be back later." I say before opening the door for Manon. "Thanks for hanging with me." Manon giggles with wave before leaving. We started walking towards our house, "Where are we going?" She asks. "To the car."
She lets out a sigh and I'm trying to contain my smile.
"I meant to eat."
"We're probably gonna eat food."
"What kind of food?"
"Good food."
"Where?"
"At a restaurant."
She lets out a puff as we reach the car. She goes for the handle of my truck, but I get there first opening it and helping her inside. "A gentleman always opens the door for a lady." I say climbing into the drivers side and turning the keys. "A true gentleman tells the lady where they will be eating." She states and I can tell she joking. "A good man uses the element of surprise." I joke back.
