Vera Washington lay on her bed, wondering if this was really worth it.
Worth the humilaition.
Worth the struggle.
Worth the fight.
Just today, somebody had stood up gainst her and called her a slut, again. But she couldn't deny it. She knew she was one, her 'friends' knew she was one, hell, the entire school knew she was one! She also knew that secretly, behind her back, her friends joked about the different STDs she might carry, with her long list of fuck toys, just so they could get a bit of action themselves.
'Did you hear Vera Washington fucked the school janitor? She is such a slut! Oh my gosh, I think she might carry STDs that have not been discovered!' her so called 'friends' would say in that nasal voice of theirs.
'But don't you always hang out with her?' the guys would ask, confused.
'Bitch please, I only do that so I can skip the lunch line' her friends would snicker.
And then they'd all laugh.
They all thought that she was completely unaware of what people said about her. They thought her devil may care attitude stemmed from a lack of ignorance. Truth was, she knew everything. The scandals, the gossip, the evil-eye stares, she'd been subject to them all. And it would be absolutely wrong to say that she remained unaffected by it all.
Because she was completely and utterly devasted.
True, most of those rumors were wrong, and would have started out as something as simple as 'Vera made out with Kyle after the football game' but would be mutilated to something as insane as 'Vera and Kyle had sex on the football field at twelve on a monday night after which they were went to sleep naked and were found by the janitor the next morning'.
She was a slut, but not that slutty.
'Oh, who am I trying to justify?' she screamed to herself, while throwing very expensive watch at the wall. It hit the wall with an audible thud and fell to floor.
'Yourself' a little voice inside her replied.
However, she did not want to acknowledge that what her voice had said was right. Instead, she shut her eyes and she scooped her cat, Tickles, in her arms. 'I'm so scared, Tickles' she said, in a bare whisper. 'I'm so scared'
She then laid her cat on the bed, took her cell phone from the nightstand, and saw that the time was five-fifteen. Dave would be home from foorball pactice. Her parents were not at home, but they never were. Some business meeting or other that was more important than her. She felt the familiar pricking in her eyes that told her her eyes were watering. She furiously wiped them with the back of her sleeve. No. She wouldn't let herself cry over them, she decided. Not when they had decided a meeting was more important than her. She then punched in the numbers that were already so familiar.
'Hello!' A voice replied. The same voice that had whsipered dirty nothings in her ears as the owner of that voice had brought her to her climax.
"Hey honey' she purred, trying to turn on that sleazy confidenced that seemed to ooze from her. Apparently, it had worked, as she heard the male on the other end gulp. 'How would you like to come over?' she asked.
'Su-sure thing! We're going to -to do what we normally do, right?' he asked. Vera just laughed, the same laugh that had a line of men worshipping the ground she walked on. "Of course, silly boy' she said.
'Okay' he gulped. 'See you in five!' he said and hung up the phone.
Vera flung the phone on her bed and rushed to the bathroom to get ready.
It was worth it, she decided. If screwing till her legs were shaking like a gelatin monster was what it took to fill that empty space inside her, pun unintended, it was worth it.

At precisely five-fifteen, the same time as Vera summoned her booty call, Jared was cracking his knuckles at his dad.
"Bring it on, old man!' he said.
His dad just laughed. 'Son, do you honestly think you can eat more pies than me? I'm the pie-master of the family!'
'Not anymore, you aren't! Because I'm just about to kick your ass.' Jared smirked.
Mr.Hunter raised an eyebrow. 'You're all talk son. You do remember what happened last month, don't you?'
'Hey' Jared started. 'There was a slight... technical difficulty. I shouldn't have gone to Starbucks earlier! Besides, you won because I let you win.'
Mr.Hunter smirked. 'Sure, son. Whatever helps you live with yourself'
Jared just crossed his arms and stuck his tongue out. He felt a sharp pat on his head and turned to see his mother standing next to him with a tray of pies. 'Jared, behave yourself' she said, with a playful glint in her eyes.
'Mom I didn't do anything!' Jared said.
'I saw the tongue, Jared.' his mum said, while setting the pies down on the table in front of them. They were sitting out on the patio while Jared's younger sister read a book lying down on the grass. It was the beginning of Spring and all of Mrs.Hunter's flowers were in bloom. It was also time for their monthly pie-eating contest, a ritual that was held exactly on the second tuesday of every month. Mrs.Hunter sat on Jared's left and called to his sister.
'Jacey, the pies are ready honey!'
Jacey Hunter walked over lazily to the wooden table. She sat on the chair to Jared's right, still reading the book. Her mum snatched the book from her hand.
'Muuum' she whined.
'Not now, Jacey' her mother said. She just frowned and looked away. 'What kind of pie are we having?' she asked.
'Your favorite' her mum said. Immediately her eyes lit up. 'You mean we're having banana pie?' she asked.
'Yep' her mother said, nodding.
'That's cool. Thanks mom' she said. Jared rolled his eyes. 'Whichever pie it is, you're going to eat it. You love pies. How does it matter?' he asked.
Jacey just stuck her tongue out at him.
'Jacey' her mum said. She just rolled her eyes, at nobody in particular. Jared then heard his dad clear his throat.
'You ready son?' he asked.
Jared smiled. 'Game on' he said.
