It was the day I finally felt this feeling. I couldn't stop smiling, neither could he.
The next day was a school day and I woke up feeling refreshed and fully rested for once. I got dressed in my usual boring clothes, and I skipped downstairs. I forgot to pack a lunch and I didn't care to eat, I just went straight out the door.
When I got to school Kazue was with his friends, chatting. I walked up to him, joyfully.
"Hi, Kazue!" I said.
"Hey." Kazue smiled, walking over to me. His friends slowly walked off.
"How are you?" He asked.
"I'm fine. I actually slept last night." I said.
"Hah, good." Just then the bell rang and we went off to our classes.
First period, eight in the morning.
Today we were baking and we got to choose partners. A bunch of Kazue's friends ran to him as he approached me."Nami, wanna be partners?" He asked, if ignoring his friends.
"Sure!" I beamed.
"I don't even know how to bake... You know that." I said.
"Don't worry, I'll teach you." He smiled.
We finally got to our little baking corner in the kitchen of the school.
"Now, stir it." Kazue commanded me. I stirred it but I was slow at it.
"Go faster." He said. I sped up.
"No! That too fast!" He cried, some ingredients splashing out of the bowl, onto his face.
"...Heheheh..." I giggled. First Kazue looked mad but then when his eyes fell on my his lips curved into a smile. Suddenly, he got behind me and took my hand from behind. His breath tickled my neck.
"Here... Like this." He said, his lips next to my ear. He stirred the ingredients at a steady pace, not too fast nor too slow, the exact opposite of what I had done. I couldn't help but focus on him instead of the baking. In the corner of my eyes I saw him smiling. In a few seconds, he let me go, as he had finished stirring.
"Thanks." I smiled, turning to face him.
"Oh, hang on, Nami." Suddenly he wiped something off my face.
"H-Huh?" I stammered, confused.
"You had a little dough on your face, silly." He smiled.
"I did...?" I mumbled to myself, embarrassed. I must look like a child. We eventually finished, and our class held a baking contest to see whose was best, which Kazue and I had won.
Lunch time, noon.
Kazue went straight to me as soon as the period began. I was upset because I forgot my lunch again."No food?" He asked. I shook my head.
"I have cake!" He beamed.
"I'm sorry, I don't want to eat your cake." I said.
"Why not?" He sounded puzzled.
"I'm always eating your cake. It's your cake." I said.
"Pfft. I don't care it's yours now." And with that, as I was about to say something and my mouth was open, he shoved the cake into my mouth. I clamped down on reflex, eating the cake. My eye twitched. I said I didn't want his damn cake.
"Uh oh. Eye twitch. Are you mad at me?" He asked. My eye twitched again.
"So, yes, you are mad. Ah... Oh well." He sighed rested his head down on the table. Then his friends approached us.
