Chapter 5 The Stranger

A/N I need to tell you that Brian is now on duty Garroth is still talking with Zane.

??? POV (A/N Once you read the first sentence it's obvious)

I left my previous village of Mateli (A/N Did I spell that right?) to try and find Cadenza. I swear if she gets herself turned into a chicken again I'm... nevermind. I think she said she was going to a nearby village called Phoenix Drop. First I might try Castor's place though, just in case. I walked for a bit until I realized that I was going the wrong way. I continued the way I was going to see if she might be nearby.

God where am I even going?

I continued walking until I reached a wall with quite a few guards.

"Who are you and what do you want?" a guard on the other side said

"My name is Laurence, I'm not here for trouble, I'm just trying to find someone by the name of Cadenza. We were best friends back in Mateli"

Aphmau's POV

How long am I going to be here? Brian was at his post and Garroth hadn't come back.

"I swear I'm not going to kill anyone here. Can I go?" I asked Dante and Dale

I was getting impatient as you can tell.

"Fine" Dale said annoyed.

I had been doing that for about ten minutes.

"Thank you"

I left the guard station and walked around for a bit. I came to the walls to see Brian talking with ugh another guard. But the guard Brian was talking to didn't seem to be from here and definitely didn't look like someone from O'khasis which is good. I quickly and quietly ran from the village walls and decided to go to Cadenza's house to see if my clothes were ready. I came to Cadenza's house to find her leaving with a package in her hand.

"Oh hey Aphmau" she said "I was just about to find you and give you your clothes"

She handed me the clothes and told me to try them on in the changing rooms in her basement/work area. The clothes were amazing. She made me an assortment of dresses and a really cute outfit, in my opinion. I decided to keep on the outfit and find a way to thank Cadenza.

"No charge" Cadenza smiled "find it as a welcome to Phoenix Drop gift"

I was just about to leave when I hear a knock at the door. Standing before me was the same guard from the gates.

Laurence's POV

Before me was a beautiful girl. I think I blushed because my face heat up.

"Um... Hello, I'm Aphmau" the girl said

Aphmau, why did that name sound so darn familiar.

"I'm Laurence, it's nice to meet you Aphmau"

Wait isn't she the girl that the High Priest of O'khasis wants? Meh I won't think about it right now.

"Excuse me but can I see Cadenza or is she busy?" I asked

"Oh she's downstairs. I'll tell her you're-"

"No don't tell her" I said "I want to see her and not know I'm here. She still thinks I'm in Mateli"

Aphmau nodded in understanding "Okay well I better go. See you around"

I moved out of the way so Aphmau could leave and I went in to see Cadenza.

Aphmau's POV

That was interesting, he seemed familiar in a way. Meh I won't worry about it right now. I went to the plaza to try and find Garroth until I saw him lying on the ground with an arrow in his chest.

"Garroth!"

I bolted to get Dante and Dale. The two were still in the guard station.

"Dale, Dante" I panted "Garroth is in the plaza but-"

Dante ran out of the guard station followed by Dale and myself.

A/N Hey guys! I needed to tell you that because of school my release times are going to be a little off besides the weekends. So that's that and also I decided to end the contest next Sunday at about 4.
