Chapter 4 What Happened?

Garroth's POV

I took Aphmau to the guards station where I met Dante, Brian, and Dale. They all turned when we entered.

"Hey Garroth" Dante said.

"Hey Dante, can you watch Aphmau and make sure she doesn't kill anybody?" I asked

"Yeah, but why?" Dale questioned

"I'll explain later. I need to check on something"

Before I left, I caught a glimpse of Aphmau blushing before quickly turning to see the other guards. Then I left to check on my annoying excuse of a brother.

Aphmau's POV

Garroth brought me to a stone brick building that seemed suspiciously like a guard station. I've been in plenty and I don't want to go in another. We walked inside to see more guards. Great just great.

"Hey Garroth!" one of the guards said

"Hey Dante, can you watch Aphmau and make sure she doesn't kill anybody?" Garroth asked them

What! Why would he think that?

"Yeah, but why?" another one questioned

"I'll explain later. I need to check on something"

I looked at Garroth and blushed a bit. I quickly turned to see the other guards looking at me.

He's kind of cute

Shut up thoughts

"Excuse me" I asked "who are you?"

I'm Dante, and this is Brian and Dale"

"B-Brian?" I choked

"Um yes who may you be?" Brian asked

"It's me, Aphmau" I told him

Zane's POV

That girl is an idiot for not taking my offer. I will make her marry me if she wants her secret kept quiet.

"Zane" I heard a voice yell

"What?" I snapped

Aphmau had done some serious damage in our fight. Garroth walked into the plaza.

"Hello Zane" Garroth said "I hope you're okay"

I raised an eyebrow.

"Really?"

"Yes, I don't want Phoenix Drop to be at war with O'khasis"

Aphmau's POV

I stood there uncomfortably wishing Zane didn't exist. I know it's rude but he threatened my family's life and I couldn't have that.

"So um...." Dale said "what did you do to make Garroth bring you here?"

"Long story short, I tried to kill Zane"

"WHAT!" they all screamed at once

"He threatened my family. What do you expect me to do?"

The guards stood there dumbfounded.

"Why?" Brian asked

"All I know is that I had to marry him or my family would suffer. Right now I'm just trying to find a home and get as far away from O'khasis as possible."

A/N Hey guys! So this chapter was hard to figure out what to do since I've been needing ideas. I also wanted to tell you that Aphmau and Brian knew each other under circumstances. Also that Laurence is coming later in the book.
