Hey, ppl! It's been 3 wks since my last update so to make it up to you guys, I will be uploading 3 chapters this wk.❤️❤️❤️

Here in California, it's been extremely hot over the past few wks and I've been playing volleyball in a hot, stuffy gym. 😰 Since I've been sweating so much, I've noticed myself getting a lot of pimples lately. (I'm known for having pretty clear, healthy skin.) I find it super annoying to have pimples on my face for everyone to see no matter how small because it makes me extremely self conscious. So in this chapter, I will be sharing with you ways to care for your pimples and how to prevent them from forming.

Pimple Care:
Windex⇒ I used to believe that Windex would actually make pimples fade until I tried it myself. It doesn't fade pimples at all; it actually makes them white. In a way it does get rid of pimples, but you have to pop them yourself.

Popping⇒ It's said to be bad to pop your pimples because it can cause scarring, but if it's already white, you might as well pop it. To pop your pimple, make sure to thoroughly wash your hands. When popping your pimple, don't squeeze it; put two fingers on either side of the pimple and press down. Squeezing a pimple will push the bacteria further down into your pores, while pushing down on either side of it will effectively clean out your pores. Make sure it bleeds; this tells you that you have fully popped your pimple.

Rubbing Alcohol After popping your pimple, pour some alcohol on a cotton ball and apply it to the pimple. This will kill any bacteria still hanging around the affected area.

Listerine (mouthwash) About a day after popping a pimple, applying Listerine (mouthwash) to the popped pimple will help it heal faster/fade away. The reason you can't just simply apply Listerine (mouthwash) to your pimple before popping it is that it can't get rid of all of the bacteria accumulating in your pimple.

Pimple Prevention:
Clean Hands It's always a good idea to have clean hands because not only does it prevent spread of sickness, it also prevents pimples from forming. We are constantly touching our faces and all of the bacteria and dirt that was once on your hands ends up clogging one of your pores, so wash your hands before touching your face.

Eat Healthy/Exercise Believe it or not, your lifestyle (diet/exercise) can affect the amount of acne you get. Make healthy choices and get at least 60 min. of exercise a day to prevent pimples from developing.

Wash Your Face You should wash your face 2 times a day: during the morning and before you go to bed. Washing your face in the morning not only refreshes you, but it also removes any dirt/bacteria your skin may collect during the night. Washing your face before going to bed will clear your face of any dirt/bacteria you gathered throughout the day.

Sleep Well It may be a challenge for some of us to get a full 8 hrs of sleep, including me, but we need it to be able to endure the next day and achieve clear, beautiful skin. Without sleep, you stress out your body so your body begins releasing cortisol (a stress hormone). In turn, high cortisol levels leads to major breakouts.

DON'T TOUCH YOUR FACE! This is the most important tip to prevent pimples because it's one of the top causes of breakouts. Picking at your face introduces more germs, increases the chances of acne scars, and it can increase inflammation.

As a person who rarely gets pimples, I always find it hard to ignore them when they do emerge. I am always tempted to pop/get rid of them. Using these simple tips is how I keep my skin as clear as can be and has allowed me to understand why I breakout.

I hope this chapter has helped you reach a better understanding of caring for/preventing pimples as much as it has helped me. I know it's difficult to maintain clear skin, but it's totally worth it.
