"How much longer until the popcorn is done?" I complained as I laid across the couch.
"2 more minutes," Alex said. "Is Christine coming over?"
"You remember her name?" I sat up, suddenly interested in what Alex had to say.
"Yeah, we went to church together for years. Then Mae came along and we haven't went since. Don't tell Katrina but I think Christine is really pretty, naturally at that!" Now I was really interested.
"If it's a girl, you think it's pretty!" I joked.
"Okay, maybe you're right but you got to admit she is pretty," Alex agreed. "The lesbian in your must think so."
"I ain't got no bit of lesbian, I'm fully straight. As straight as a straight line can be! But yeah, she is pretty. I'm super jealous," I told him. "And she'll be here in five so I guess you're leaving soon?"
"Why are you jealous?" Alex questioned.
"Why won't you answer my question?" I ignored his.
"Because I won't answer yours until you answer mine!" He grinned evilly.
"I'm jealous because she's naturally beautiful and I have to wear make up to hide my scars," I told him. "Now answer my question, ya meat head!" I shook his shoulders.
"I'm leaving when she comes, yes, but you don't need to be jealous. Everything you do makes you, you. Jealousy can kill you if you let it, don't die on me!" Alex said, putting on his school coat that hung in my coat closet since he hid in it earlier.
"Jealousy makes a woman, don't you know?" I looked out the window, watching Christine get out of her dad's car with bags. "I didn't think her dad would let her stay over being Sunday and all."
"Her dad doesn't care much as long as she attends church and church programs, I learned that long ago when she got her ears pierced back in 6th grade," Alex said as Christine came through the door. "Hello Christine, nice to see you."
"Well hello Alex, I didn't know you knew my name," Christine reacted the same.
"Okay, if I don't interact with you daily does not mean I don't know your name! Guys, seriously? I may be a jock but I'm not stupid!" Alex complained. "Good night Jenna. Good night CHRISTINE." He said Christine extra loudly. We both chuckled like the little girls we were deep down inside our bodies.
"Good night Alex," I closed the door behind him as he left my house. The lock clicked as I locked it shut.
"So, how long has this been going on?" Christine asked.
"Hmm?" I didn't understand her.
"The fact he's cheating on Katrina with you!" Christine grinned. "I want all the details!"
"Christine! Nothing is going on between me and Alex, he's only my newest friend like you and me. He's not cheating, he isn't like that!" My brain took control of my mouth before I could even think it over.
"Speaking of cheaters, guess who I saw lip smacking David at the mall this afternoon when I went to get ice cream after church?" Christine began. "Katrina!"
"Oh my gosh, EW! That's like throwing away a diamond, aka Alex, and picking up a ugly rock. He gives me the creeps, Christine, I think he wants me," I reacted to Katrina's doings exactly how Christine thought I was going to according to her facial expression.
"I know! It's gross, should we tell Alex?" A sudden knife jabbed into my stomach. Alex. Poor, poor Alex. One of the nicest boys I ever met was getting cheated on by his trampy girlfriend with a greasebag. I was disgusted, but I can't tell Alex. It'll hurt him to know the love of his teenage life is cheating on him. She doesn't deserve him.
"No, we're not going to tell him!" I sternly said.
"What are we going to do? Alex deserves something!" Christine was right.
"Oh, we are going to do something," I smirked. "We're going to make her pay!"
