"Riley? Riley, are you ok?" I woke up to the mermaid girl shaking me to wake up. I quickly scooted back, how is this possible? I pinched myself to make sure this wasn't a dream... Or a nightmare. Suddenly, I rubbed my arm where I had pinched it "Riley?" Said the mermaid girl again. "Who are you and how do you know my name?" "My name is Silvia" she calmly said. "I lived in this pond for years, everyday seeing you and your mom come here, once in a while watching you swim in the pond and then, soon leave. I've always wanted to be your best friend. To see what it was like to be a human and to gossip about all the new fish in the pond and stuff. These are my friends. My pet unicorn, Candy. And my 3 best friend, fairies, Crystal, Blossom, and Heather." "That's not creepy at all..." I said sarcastically." "Whatever, So, you said you want to be my friend?" "Ya..." Sylvia shyly said. "Ok, I'll see if you can come over to my house and we can hang out." I said. Just then, my mom walked out of work.
"Hey, Riley? I gotta work extra hours tomorrow so I might not be home when  you get home from school. Is that ok?" "Ya mom, that's fine. I wanted to ask a question, can Sylvia come over?" I asked. "Sure she can stay for dinner too if she wants."  I turned to Sylvia. "Cool, so we can talk some more about this later!" I said to her "Ya! I'll meet you there, bye!" She said excitedly. "Wait, I still need to give you my address! It's 13  cherry drive." I said. "Oh ya, thanks!See you in a couple minutes!" And with that, I waved to Sylvia and we drove off to home!
