-Jamie's Pov-
I wasn't sure what was happening, but there has never been anything this massive happen during my reign. I wasn't sure if something like this had happen even during the last hundred years. I had asked Eleanore with all of her knowledge if she knew what had caused this or if she knew how to stop it. She was just as baffled as I was. Which to me meant something unnatural was at work here.
Eleanore spent her days trying to tend to the sick. She was in constant contact with the infected yet never seemed to catch it and every time she equated it to the vaccinations that she had gotten for school as a child. I knew she was doing her best but unlike usual her patients weren't getting any better. In fact it seemed to me like everyone was getting worse, at a contrast rate.
I watched as my men fell, the woman who took care of them fell, the children who played in the streets fell, I wasn't sure but it seemed like over half of the town surrounding the castle was bedridden. If our enemies found out about this we would be attacked for certain. The worst part of it was that me and Eleanore day after day was getting more and more scared that Eirik would be next to fall.
I sat in the throne room as Eirik stayed hidden in our room and Eleanore tended to one of my men. I needed to think of a way to solve this, but I didn't know what was going on. Then a dark thought popped into my mind, all of this started after we ran into that wizard who wanted what was mine. I stood up enraged at the thought and scared Eleanor who had just walked into the room and had gotten so close to me that I had bumped into her when I stood up.
"What is it my love?" she asked.
"I have had a realization but please tell what who've seen today?" I answered numbly wanting to calm down.
"Nothing new, I've never seen any disease like this, if I didn't know any better I'd say this was a demon or magic at work."
"Why do you say if you didn't know any better? You know a Wizard who holds a grudge against me!"
She gasped as if she never had that thought before and in my mind I hated that she didn't have doubt in her opinion of him. In my state of jealousy I snapped and grabbed her wrists and turned us around pushing her into the chair and putting my hands on either side of her face.
"Does it not occur to you that he traveled all this was, for you. That seeing you happy with me was a shock to him to say the least. That he wasn't happy with the fact that the love of his life was in the arms of another every night and had a child with said man."
"But I'm not the love of his life?" she says looking up at me with big eyes looking confused.
I sigh, this woman while she is incredibly smart doesn't see what a catch she is and doesn't see how many men reacted to her, its one of the things I love about her but its also one of the things that irritate me. She so innocent and sweet about it to that it makes me mad when I get mad about me being mad at her.
Her eyes, so sweet, unseeing of how so many look at her. Even in his kingdom she only sees the eyes of her enemies who would try to break her instead of seeing the ones who look at her with love and adoration.
She looks confused at my sigh and silence until finally I speak, "he loves you, and you are the love of his life otherwise he wouldn't have come this far for you."
She it interrupts me here, "no, he just feels like it's his duty since he is the one who found me first when I had jumped to this time." I sighed again, this woman is dense when it comes to her own self worth.
"He is here for you, he looks at you with love you just didn't notice it Moon."
Her face crumples and she process and her wheels start to spin. "Then that means..." She trails off as her eyes widen in surprise as her expression turns to anger. "He has to here somewhere." She states coldly.
I watched as she stalked out of the room with a purpose that I hadn't seen in her step since had first told me about the first man who had gotten sick and how she wasn't sure what was wrong with him or what to do about it, that man died that night. This disease doesn't let the infected live long... It's purpose was to wipe us out I was sure of it.
I sighed and sat back. I didn't want my legacy or my people to surfer because of some ticked off wizard that let his girl slip away and is now mad that she finally moved on. He act like I'm the evil one when I was the one that had to heal her, just because my father, may he rest in peace, told us to marry that we had a happy beginning to our wedding. I had to heal this woman and make her the queen she always was. She was devastated when she came here, she was broken and defeated. She half didn't care but that fire inside of her that I fell in love with just wouldn't die, for that I'm grateful. This warrior that I call my wife, has had her ups and downs and I was the one over he years who put her back together when she tore herself down. And now this wizard thinks he can ride in on his high horse and take her now that she's healed.
I stood, No. I wouldn't stand for it. Leaving the throne room I began to search the hidden corridors for the wizard. I would have his head before he touched a strand of her hair.
