I wanted to see Blasine and try to see if she would tell me what's going on. I needed more information, it was killing me to be in the dark like this and I also wanted to know why she wanted to sleep with me.
I walked with my back to the wall down several hallways before I i hit my first guard who was sleeping against the inner wall were not only, if he was awake, he couldn't see the gate below but he also wasn't able to see the hill where if anyone was coming to attack the castle would have to go over. I laughed internally as I thought about the punishment that this soldier would get if Arthur knew that he was sleeping in he job. I didn't wake him as I had to pass by the window to get past the guard and I looked from out of my cape to see if any other guard might notice me. Lucky I could see any and if any saw me they didn't raise the alarm.
On the right I found the staircase I need to get to the lower level above the dungeon. This castle is a maze and twice while navigating the lower level I almost turned a corner into the view of a guard. What made it worse was the guards that were awake were patrolling down their assigned corridor making it to where I had to time it out perfect to get through. I felt like a video game character the only difference is that if I got caught there wouldn't be a redo life waiting for me.
When I finally managed to get to the dungeon level I had to pass several guards and had three close calls where a guards thought they saw something and I had to hide and once I even had to take a detour to get away from the guards. I took a bit of time but I made it to the inner dungeon. At this point I was worried about the time. I wasn't sure what time it was when I left, who long it took me to get down here, how long it would take to get back, and how long I would have to talk to Blasine to get the information I needed.
I guess one problem at a time, which cell is Blasine in? I looked around finding several men who looked like they could have killed someone, these whistled at me, one woman with a scar on her face, two skinny teenage looking boys who really just looked scared to death and further in I could see someone wrapped in a blanket in a cell that looked much nicer than the rest of them. I slipped as quietly as possible to that nicer cell to find that the bed down here was Blasine's, and her auburn hair was coming out of the blankets.
"Blasine. ... Blasine. ... It's me Eleanor." At the mention of my name Blasine bolted upright. She looked a mess. I was used to her nice and clean but her hair was matter and there was dark smudges all across her face, arms, and chest. Her dress was torn and ratty looking like she fought the guards when they brought her down here but her bright eyes shown with malice and rage.
"What are you doing here?" She hissed.
"I'm checking on you. Are you ok? Did they hurt you?" I asked trying to sound like worried about her, I was worried but not al much as I was acting like I did. I wanted Blasine out of the castle so Merlin would have less to deal with but I didn't want Arthur to kill her.
"Your sweet but you shouldn't have come down here. You will only make Arthur more enraged. Besides aren't you scared of me after what I did?" She asked her tone going soft at the last sentence.
"Honestly. You would scare me more if you threatened to use your magic on me." As I said this I realized that I had said the wrong thing.
Blasine's eyes narrowed as she began looking at me in a new light. "So you were trying to seduce me?" She half asked half said like she was sure it was the truth.
I shook my head, "I wasn't tying to seduce you. I wasn't planning on going all the way with you. I tried to stop you after the kiss but I couldn't. I was just hoping to talk to you." I said honestly.
"I see, so you are just naive. Well now you can leave I won't have anything re to do with you and if you come down here again I shall curse you for real." She said with a devilish look in her eyes like she was serious.
"I'm sorry you feel like that but before I go I will warn you. Arthur plans on having you killed if King Nentres of Garlot doesn't come and get you. I don't want you to die so if I hear that Arthur plans on killing you I will come down here and try to help you escape the castle." I say looking straight as Blasine as she takes what I've said into consideration.
"Just go." she says like she is tired, "I don't want or need Arthur hurt you, and the morning shall come soon." I nod and turn to go, her voice stops me, "may I have one more kiss?" I turn back to her looking at her please eyes. I put my face near the bars and watch her do the same. We kiss, not a deep kiss since the bars won't allow it but we kiss an innocent child's kiss before she puts her hand through the bars and pushes me away. "Go." She says in a hoarse voice as I give her one last look before I turn and leave the dungeon.
I have more trouble getting back to bed than I did getting down to the dungeon. In fact I didn't get to terribly far until a guard who was asleep woke up with me sneaking in front of him trying to get to the stairwell to leave the dungeon.
I kneed him in the stomach in an attempt to get back to my room like that was still an option. However at the noise of solider number one falling over caused two more soldiers to come and see what was going on which made it a three on one fight. Three trained soldiers vs me. Here's a hint, I didn't win. I turned and ran down the hall way barreling into solider number one since I was hoping that he hadn't come to his senses yet in an attempt to pass him and get to the next level of the castle, not that I had a plan for what to do next. But soldier one was oriented now and didn't let me pass him and he held me around my waist until the other two soldiers crossed the distance to the hallway. They didn't know what to do with me so it was decided that I would go into a waiting cell away from the other inmates until the King, or in all likely hood the Prince, would decide what would be done with me.
I sat inside the cell waiting for something to happen. I was also actually doing what the cell was meant to do, I was thinking about why I was in the cell and if I should have ever even gone to warn Blasine about Arthur and his plans for her.
.
.
.I waited for hours before a very angry Arthur came into the cell fuming, I could practically see the smoke coming from his ears as he paced in front of me. I tried to talk to Arthur but every time I opened my mouth he would give me a glare so strong that I would feel all thoughts and words leave my brain making it impossible to vocalize anything.
Finally Arthur spoke, "what the hell were you thinking?"
"I felt like I had to warn her and talk to her because, I didn't want her to be punished, when she didn't force me, it's not her fault, or mine for that matter." Here was where I had to be stop the glare Arthur gave me and I knew I was talking in choppy incomplete sentences.
"So your ok with what happened?" Arthur fumed.
"N-n-no I'm not. B-but it wasn't all her fault." I barely got out under the scrutiny of Arthur.
"I can't do this now. You will stay here until I decide otherwise." And with that Arthur was gone from the cell leaving me alone feeling like a third grade who just got yelled at by a teacher. I wanted to cry. I didn't but I did want to.
