"What are we going to do today?" Heatherpaw asked her mentor. "We'll be learning about basic herbs." Fawnheart said not taking her eyes off of the comfrey she was sorting. Heatherpaw nodded. "What is comfrey for?" Fawnheart looked at the small she cat. "To mend bones or soothe wounds." Heatherpaw said with confidence. Fawnheart smiled,"Correct." "Coltsfoot?" Fawnheart hoped Heatherpaw would know this. "I-I don't know." She shuffled her paws. "It's eaten to help shortness of breath." Fawnheart put the comfrey in a small hole. "Oak leaf?" "It stops infections." "Good,good. You'll be a great medicine cat." Fawnheart smiled at the young she cat.
"Come,its time to go to the Moonstone." Fawnheart beckoned Heatherpaw. Heatherpaw quickly followed. "The forest is so pretty!" Heatherpaw said looking above at the high trees. After an hour,the two reached the Moonstone and waited for the other Medicine Cats. "Greetings,Fawnheart. I see you have an apprentice now. Am I correct?" SunClans Medicine Cat, Dawnleaf asked. Fawnheart nodded,"This is Heatherpaw." Heatherpaw dipped her head. "Fawnheart,Dawnleaf,Fawnhearts apprentice." Rainshade(Waterclan) arrived with his apprentice,Troutpaw. "Sorry I'm late." Redmeadow(Breezeclan) Heatherpaw quickly introduced herself to the other medicine cats and they headed to the Moonstone.
Heatherpaw licked the water,as Fawnheart has told her to do. "Wow! This is StarClan?" Heatherpaw gasped at the beauty. "Greetings young Heatherpaw." A male voice came out from the shadows. "I am Gingerfoot. I was Fawnhearts mentor." Gingerfoot told the small apprentice. "I hope you enjoy being a Medicine Cat." He dipped his head. "Do you have any prophecies for me?" Heatherpaw asked. Gingerfoot chuckled,"My apologies,no." "You shall be waking up soon." Gingerfoot waved his tail goodbye.
